What Is YOUR Top Speed?
Got up to a whopping 90 today! I'm amazed at you guys who are way up in the 100's! I'm still too chicken I guess. But I never would have done 90 if it hadn't been for reading about your speeds. Husband took it to 100 - and is now looking to buy a black Crossfire w/Cedar interior!
Would these confessions hold up as evidence in traffic court? 135 mph.
Just over a 100 once, every time I want to go faster, I remember the time about 15 years ago I got pulled over in Kentucky for doing 155 in a 55 on I75 in my Supercharged Mustang LX 5.0, I waited nearly 10 minuets for him to catch up. My radar detector went off just as I was admiring the rock formations on my right and a cave carved out of it with a state trooper sitting inside. At that time I was in the Army and used to where my dress greens home, just in case I got pulled over. I still have the ticket in storage, it says "Flying to low in a no fly zone" Paying the $400 was better than going to jail and having my car impounded.
I had it as fast as it will go once and that was almost 245 km/h, I think, but I just happened to think about my cam when I decided to film this clip last night on the way home, girlfriend was there so I kept it reasonable considering deer and stuff, but I got to 230km/h before I hit the stop sign, that's about 145 mph. Original brakes and the seatbelt still hurt her shoulder. Now if I can only figure out how to load video...
The wife and I hit 100 today on the way to visit my sister/bro-in-law near Ocala. Only had the car a month, just starting to test it's limits. At 100 it felt absolutely stable, solid as a rock. I have no doubt it'll go over 140...maybe next trip up there.
1970 Dodge Challenger RT: 155 mph before I ran out of stones...the road was too windy (two laner in northwestern PA) and those cars didn't corner too well at all!
In this car: 95 without really trying. Haven't had it a week yet. Still getting used to it. I see big numbers coming...

it is fun reading all the stories...it seems as I look back ALL those yrs...160 is as fast as I have been, and I now realize that has happened in 3 different cars.....never had a patrol car that would go over 140 though....

My Chalenger had a 440 Magnum in it that I had considerably worked over, and I had two differentials, a 3:91 for the 1/4 mile, and a 3:23 for the road. Those were the days!
