Just got a notice from my insurance company (Allstate), the rate on my Crossfire is going up 3.6% because, well, it's a Crossfire. I think just now they're trying to sort out what to do with them.
This with a multiple car (3) discount, packaged with life and home insurance, excellent driver rating, low miles annually, and $1000 deductible.
Annual for the Xfire is $980 under these circumstances.
Gonna start shopping insurance tomorrow.

Damn all of you non-NJ drivers. $980 a year for insurance. I wish. I don't have any points on my license. Clean record. I'm 20, and as the Prudential Insurance Agent told me the Crossfire "is a rather expensive car for a 20 year old to be driving", and add the fact that I am on my own insurance policy, and not married, and you basically can take your insurance rate and triple it. And then you can pay them that twice a year. My good driver, and good student discounts don't even dent it. The only good news is that in February, my rate will go down $1000 a year, and by the time I'm 25 it should settle down to a total of around $1500 a year (if I were 25 today). Pretty crazy. I have tried shopping around, and there are VERY few car insurance companies that will still do business in NJ, with more dropping out every year. I have tried shopping around, and Prudential was the cheaper of the two who would actually insure a 20 year old driver with a Crossfire. As soon as I'm out of college, I'm moving down to Florida...
There are so many factors taht play into insurance (age, location (county), driving record, etc...) that it's impossible to compare one owner top the other. I have USAA and would not give them up even if the were more expensive--but they are not. I'm 35, clean record, TX and it's about $600 per year with 1K deduct.--again it all depends on so many factors. But do shop around...

$1300 per year/$500 deductible with CSAA of Northern California is the best rate I was able to secure. Gathered quotes from various other Insurers and they were way too expensive making my $1300 a steal.

I hate to say this, but boy am I glad I am 50 and live in Ohio!!!!
I pay $927.00 per year w/ $500 deductible for both our cars. A 2004 Crossfire ($595.00) and a 2002 Hundai Santa Fe ($332.00). The carrier is State Auto Insurance.
My rate increased a whopping $20.00 per year when I eliminated the 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse and added the Crossfire.....
I guess there is some advantage to living where it is "kinda cold" and I have to shovel snow now and then!!!!

My insurance for 6 months on the Crossfire is $566 with $250 deductible comprehensive and $500 collision. I get a multi policy discount with my 2000 300m and my homeowners policy. It's with AMEX Assurance Company, if you go to the American Express website there's a link on the page to auto insurance. Oh, and I'm in Arizona.
 We had The Hartford insurance for years (with great rates). Got an "invitation" from AARP to get an insurance quote on line. When I got on line to do it - I noticed it was Hartford - so I figured the rates would be identical. Boy - was I surprised!!! Same Exact Company - Same Exact Coverage - saved us several hundred dollars per year when we changed the policy to go through AARP!!! So - it is always worth looking into other insurance companies each year. When we insured the Crossfire, we were given a quote, which we paid. I then received a check for $22.00 with our policy, saying that the rate was $22.00/year lower than their quote to me. There are some advantages to being over 50!!
