Default Looking to getting a crossfire, few questions

First, how do I know if I buy a used crossfire if it has the infinity system. Some listings such as on autotrader doesn't say. Most of the time when I a newer vechicle I trade out the stereo for a aftermarket and install new speakers. I know if it does have the inifnity system I'd have to run comppletely new wires from teh door and panels to the stereo. What about if it is not a infinity system?

I am 28 and drive a 94 camaro that is slowly but surely getting old and things just don't quite work the way they should anymore. Only had one accident in my lifetime. I saw that the insurance can be around 1200-1300 a year. I am with state farm and in the southeast. I figure this is a ballpark figure. Is that about what it costs? I like the crossfire, just something about it draws me to it.And I'm sure the ladies wouldn't mind either .

The only issue I read was the relay control module issue on the 2004 but I wonder if that was fixed in the later models?

If I do get new speakers which would fit this vechicle? I put some CDT's in my camaro and they sound pretty good.

I was looking at the regular coupe and the srt-6 but I'd be fine with the regular 4.0L is definately a step up over my current 3.4L v6.

Where did you find a "regular 4.0L" crossfire?

base=3.2L v6

SRT=3.2L v6 with s/c

The na version is a 3.2 the srt6 is 3.2 supercharged. Relay should not be a concern there is a DIY no cost fix should work. I all know is there is stereo with and one without nav. ?AUTO OR MANUEL TRANNY. Color, coupe are roadster ALL THIS INFO IS ON THE Forum. YOU CAN SPENDS HOURS on the forum researching info about the xf. If you want speed and a auto trans get srt6, if not the na are also quick and insurance should be less. But u can spend alot of monies on mods trying to get the na to stock srt6 speed and it has not been done yet, if even possible would it still be a good dependable daily driver? I think not. Get one u will love it. Danny

well I'm sure it will definaly be faster than my 94. No matter which one I choose to get. I'll look around at some of the extra info on here. I don't know if you guys have any questions I should ask the dealer about it before I get it just as a few precautions and so I don't have any suprises after purchase. I wonder why didn't make the SRT6 with a manual. I do Like manual though. Makes me feel like I'm racing.

Since you are seriously looking for a car, it is a good investment to subscribe to CARFAX for a month or so. This will give you an immediate report on whether or not this car has been in an accident, etc.

Are there 2 sets of keys for the car? If not, a 2nd set from the deal runs about $100+ because of the dealer programming that needs to be done.

You can ask your State Farm office now what the insurance will cost for the car.

The previous advice of reading this Forum is good. Members regularly post their well cared for XFs for sale. Good luck and welcome!

Most ads I see show an interiour view - the Infinity system is easy to spot.

My insurance is $278 every six months for a Crossfire Roadster (non-SRT). I gave my agent a VIN of a similar car and she had a quote for me in 5 minutes. Her quote was $352 every six months because she quoted me without thinking of the multicar discount AND she hadn't done a credit check on me in years. The multicar discount knocked off almost $50 a month. Since my credit score is way up, I saved another $24 or so.
(But then, I turn 50 next year - not EVERYTHING about getting older is bad. )

Get a VIN of a car that is close to what you plan on buying and call or visit your agent. This was the FIRST step I took! I think you will find the XF (non-SRT) is cheap to insure (for various reasons). The SRT will cost more, but I am unsure of HOW MUCH more.

The only issue I read was the relay control module issue on the 2004 but I wonder if that was fixed in the later models?
Does not look like it. But that is an easy fix anyway.

If I do get new speakers which would fit this vechicle? I put some CDT's in my camaro and they sound pretty good.
There are a million speakers out there to choose from - I have NO idea what you are looking for - but I am certain the speakers you want, and that will fit, are out there!!!! Buy the damn car and take it from there!

All Limited models have the infiniti system with the 2 subwoofers behind the seats. The only model that would not have the infiniti system would be the base which will only be all black 6 spds with cloth seats (and maybe the special edition red roadsters with cloth seats). As far as upgrading, it is a must. I went with an aftermarket deck and added another set of components. Redid all the wiring to heavier gauge stuff and LOVE the sound that can be focused in that cabin.

You will love the 6 speed as well. I drove an auto for a while before getting the 6MT and I love it, much more fun than the auto

thanks guys. Boiler, how difficult was it to rewire the back and the front speakers and what did you use to carry the wire though the door and last where did you place your tweeters for the fronts?

1. Since I have a base coupe, I had no rear speakers at all. I ran wiring through the kickpanels to my aftermarket deck. I custom built mounts to put the 6.5" midbass driver into the factory sub location (which was empty because I did not have the Infiniti system) and mounted those rear tweeters right underneath the seatbelt cutouts. I replaced the front speakers with infiniti components in the factory location (already a great cutout for the tweeter, no need to modify door panels) and left the factory wiring in tact, for now.

2. No need to carry wiring through the door, it tucks right up under the kickpanel and is very easy to hide.

3. I replaced the front speakers with infiniti components in the factory locations (already a great cutout for the tweeter, no need to modify door panels).
