According the B service check list, you should change the cabin filter and fuel filter. I just did the B service on my SSB and got new filters for it. The Aero is next...

In relation to this thread, I just changed my cabin filter at 17500 miles. I replaced it with a Mann filter but I'm a bit disappointed buy it. The stock filter is a very stout item and the supposed OEM replacement is flimsy paper/cotton. The stock item is the exact reason I like German cars--they over engineer everything and that is demonstrated in simple items like the cabin filter.
OK, so where exactly is the cabin air filter? I laid across the passenger side door sill this morning (not easy for a guy at my age) and pulled down the panel behind the glove compartment. I now know where the fan motor is, but did not see where the filter is. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks,

It is just left of the fan access. Same method of sliding the latches and drops the door. Then you just pull the filter down and out.
Go to this thread and look at picture #3. You will see the cabin filter door on the left with the X marked on it.

I got mine from RockAuto.. WIX cabin filter $17 and WIX fuel filter $41. I am not impressed with the WIX cabin filter as it has the flimsy paper frame instead of the sturdy plastic frame. The BOSCH standard or activated charcoal areonly a couple of $$ more and look like (from the online pic) they have the plastic frame. It probably dosent make a bit of difference, but........
Not a Crossfire, but I wonder if I could persuade her to change my filter.

I changed mine in about 10 minutes. You will see a rectangular lid covering the cabin air filter, and i believe 4 latches or 2 that you have to move to the side to open. I changed mine out at 50,000 miles when it started to smell like a humid hot mess. haha

Changed mine after 4 years and 50K miles. It wasn't even in bad shape. Just had a couple of leaves in it. I also changed the engine air filters at the same time.
I didn't even know it had a cabin air filter until I started reading about in on this forum.
