Default Winter Wheels

I know there has been some discussion in the past about winter wheels, but I haven't been able to find any suitable sources for 18" steel wheels.

Where can I buy an 18" steel wheel with the appropriate bolt pattern and backspacing for the Crossfire?

I'm not sure what you mean by steel wheel, do you mean steel belted?

The Michelins that come with the Crossfire do come in an All Weather version.

They are the Pilot A/S.

No, I think he is talking about changing out the 19" real wheels with 18" wheels and putting on winter tires, which is what I did. I gave up trying to find cheap steel wheels and ended up buying a set of stock wheels on ebay from a comapny in Las Vegas called kaoautostyling. the set of 4 wheels cost 650.00. Considering that 2 18" wheels from D/C would cost almost $900.00, it seemed to be a good deal, plus I have 2 19" wheels as spares.

Then I bought 4 Dunlop MR-2 winter tires and had them installed.

Finally, I put 200 lbs of weight in the back. I drive the car every day, and like I have said before, for a rear wheel drive car, I have no complaints.

If you are interested, do a search on ebay for crossfire wheels, and see what is available.

good luck.

I have found plenty of winter tires, but I was trying to avoid buying more stock wheels. For all four stock wheels, $650 sounds like a bargain.

If I went the route of buying another set of stock wheels, I would still have to have the summer tires dismounted from my original front wheels to put on winter tires. I would like to have a set of four 18" steel wheels for winter tires.

OK, Joe, I agree with you, and I am tring to find 2 more 18" stock wheels for the same reason. I called kaoautostyling and they said they would keep their eyes out for some, since I already bought from them.

But you also will have to do this:

You will have to buy the valve stems from D/C that send the tire pressure to the monitor included with the garage door closer buttons. They cost $45.20 each - P/N 5096808-AA-SENSOR TI 8037155

This assumes you want the tire pressure sensors to work on your winter tires as well. The only pain in the butt with this is that when you change your tires back and forth, you have to make a trip to the dealer to reset the sensors to your car. They hook up the computer and it reads each sensor when a magnet is placed on it. It only takes a few minutes, but depending on your relationship with the dealer, you may be charged for the time. I was not charged for the reset on the winter tires, but I will have to wait and see if they will do it twice per year for free...

Here are a few other places to check for wheels:

transwheel.com 800-892-3733

hubcaphaven.com 877-482-4283

I found these sites when I was doing my search. They had wheels for the Crossfire, but the center caps were listed as an optional item.

Check "the tire rack". They have winter tire/wheel packages for most cars (BMW, Benz, Lexus, ect).

Hi there,

I need to buy new tire pressure sensors for my SRT and my Chrysler dealer quoted me $95 for each one. Where did you see them listed for $45.20? Thanks for the tip.
