Hey Zeus! I'm a newbie too. Welcome. These guys are fantastic, big help .Had a few questions and already got answers! Its nice knowing I'm not the only one with the same prob\questions. These guys seem to eat ,sleep and **** Crossfires,I'm gonna listen!Had the same with my manual xf,1st to 2nd,4th or 6th? I've found that 3rd is fine going into and coming out of a corner, still plenty ooomph! Had mine now 3 weeks (Graphite grey 2005) gears very "notchy", got 80 000km on the clock. It gets better every day tho. It is different to other cars,I suppose thats why I bought it,! you'll find soon that this is one special machine. It has a soul, character and some bad manners,it back chats, moans, groans and in one shift can make you smile like a 5 year old! That "BARK" at about 3500rpm , mighty fine! You'll find yourself talking to the bloody thing! Enjoy it. They are worth more than their price. Please stay on line here, interested to know how your car is,will keep you up to speed on mine.

I bought my '04 Alabaster on 4-15 with 49k on the clock. I completely agree with everything you have said here. I just finished hand washing it for the 4th time since I bought it. I love this machine!

I do have one small issue though and would like some opinions. I have the 6spd manaul gear shift and it is not the best i have used by far. The gear **** feels like it will break when changing gears and it is almost impossible to get a perfect shift in 1st and 2nd. I also don't like the way you cant really feel what gear your in (If you know what i mean) not much feel to it. I was wandering if anyone has changed the gearknob for an aftermarket and if so does it feel better and make gear changes easier? Apart from that though i absolutely love the car. It was a great buy for the price. I dont have any pics yet but i will post some when i get chance.
Many thanks and nice to meet ya all.
I went for the auto, but, I am told by some manual users that you can not rush the change fro 1st to 2nd. you need to take it out of 1st, then put into 2nd, rather than one movement!
