Chrysler Max Care Warranty - Good Deal?
I got a letter in the mail from Chrysler. They offered me a genuine Chrysler Service Contract. I called and signed up for it. Here is the deal, 7 years or 60000 miles from purchase date. $100 deductable and it is transferable to a new owner. I paid $1250 for it. $100 down and 36 months interest free - that's $31.94 a month. I already have the lifetime powertrain warranty, so he said the price was a little better for me. This is the full coverage service contract, just like the one from the factory for the first 3 years. I asked, and he said it did cover the clutch, but not tires, and brakes, and normal wear items. I have 60 days to look over everything and cancel if I want to. Do you guys have this coverage, and is it a good deal?
Make sure they sold you the Max Care package and not the lesser package.
I bought a 6 year 85K miles Max Care with 50 dollar deductible from my dealership. It cost me 100 per month for a year (roughly 1,200)

I bought a maxcare plan with $100 deductible and 7 years/70,000 and it cost $1600. I have 2007 roadster but doesn't include the lifetime powertrain warranty so that may be why its higher. Sounds like a good deal to me.

I bought the 7 year 60,000 mile $100 deductible for $1200. Just turned 35,000 miles at 5 years. Hasn't cover anything yet. Had a leaking trans sensor replaced last month for $94, so no coverage.
I am supposed to get a loaner vehicle with this coverage. Have any of you experienced a problem with that? Also, is the emergency coverage worth the initial cost? Thanks for all of your responses!
To me its to much !!! Like paying for something that might happen !!! Like all those life ins scams I get in the mail all the time !!! Why pay for something up front that you might never use ???? Its like saying OK Im going to have to pay for a repair so heres the money ahead of time ??? Im jusy going to wait & see maybe no repairs at all !!!!!!!!!!! At least not $1250 worth !!Just flip the coin !!! Right !!!

Well I hate to disagree with you guys. But I purchased the extended warranty, and Thank goodness I did!
Had to have a new rear end installed, and the crank position sensor only had to pay $100.00 deductable each time, got a loaner car at no charge.
It really is just piece of mind, that if anything goes wrong, it's paid for. I have an 04' and am hoping that they offer something when this warranty runs out. And I think they might.
Which of course I will purchase. I didn't have the $6000.00 for the new rear end.

For this vehicle, the insurance is cheap insurance and piece of mind. I purchased a max care before my warranty expired in 2007 and took the 7 year 60.000 miles. My seven years will be up next April. I was told at the time I purchased that the entire amout would be refunded if I didn't have a need to use the extended protection-well the cars been great and haven't needed any service. I only drive it about 4k per year. So, if I don't have any issues, we'll see if that refund ever happens. I still think it's a good investment this car costs a bundle to repair.

I think you might just be reinforcing the point I was making - so correct me if I'm wrong. Your 2004 Crossfire is likely still covered by the original 7/70 powertrain warranty. The differential, axles, etc., as components of the drivetrain, would all be covered in the powertrain warranty. So unless I'm missing something, it would appear that your rear end replacement was covered under the powertrain warranty and not under any extended warranty? Please clarify.
I talked to "Cass" my sales representative for the service contract yesterday. When I originally signed up for the contract, I asked if the clutch was covered. He said yes. After hearing from you guys on the forum, and doing some checking on the website, I found out that many pieces of the clutch are covered, but not the major one - the clutch plate. I related this to "Cass" and he said, sorry, he looked at the list of covered parts, and there were many clutches covered - not the plate. I still have 60 days to cancel for a full refund. I'll have to see just what is covered when I get the info. To cancel, I have to send the info back and write a letter that I want to cancel. Still, do you guys think $1250 for 7 years of coverage is a good deal? Be as emphatic as you want - I love to see those multiple exclamation points!!!!!!
absolutely worth it.........I'll be doing the same very soon.
Just had one of the non-working key fob's replaced and reprogrammed, the TPMS system had to be re-learned and the airbag light was on. The Airbag system required ordering a new Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC). Fortunately these were covered by the factory 3yr/36,ooo mi warranty which has about 3 weeks remaining.
Haven't found out what this work would have cost me but I'm sure it probably comes close to paying for that warranty. Especially with the ORC computer.
My extended warranty paid for itself 3 times over on my cummins. Paid for a new rear-end and complete steering system. $1250 is nothing(set of tires?) and the peace of mind is priceless.
That's my thoughts and they are worth exactly what you paid for them.

I guess when I had the rear end replacement it was covered by the 7 year 70,000. When your at the dealers they make you think, if you hadn't purchased the extended warranty, it would have come out of your own pocket.

I just checked www.chryslerwarrantys.com. For all there plans the end date is from the date the vehicle was originally purchased not the purchase date of the warranty. So a 7 year warranty for my 2005 ends in 2 years. Not worh it unless it was from purchase date of warranty.
"End Year provided here is only an estimate. Actual end date is calculated from the vehicle's original in-service date"
