engine mod advice needed
Welcome to the forum! First off where you from? Second don't fall for those stupid performance chips.... take it to a tuning company and have things done right. As far as turbo I know people have done it but not with our engines.
The only advice I can give you ( and every member of this forum) is to stay away from any performance chip cause they won't work or could damage the car. Not sure of a tuning company in your area but here there is a company called EuroCharged who have done a number of vehicles for people on these forums and people say they do great work. They are based out of the Chicago area and they will be doing my car soon as well.
There really aren't any cost effective mods for the n/a engine. It's a 215 hp engine and changing to K&N air filters or a different exhaust do next to nothing. A ECU flash by one of the reputable companies (do some reading in the SRT6 section) may help a little, but hp gains will be minimal. I'd say detail it real well and enjoy driving a classy car. And welcome to the forum. PS - Over in the SRT6 section someone is posting a thread about installing twin turbos, but it is not for the faint of heart and sounds like a science project to me.

you can get a 100 different answer to a wide open question like that, but the best way, is to do a little research...by using the search feature above...many, many, many threads about performance, and hp gains in there.... then choose the way you want to go....but, no performance chips out there....they have to be tuned by a pro...we have a few vendors on here....and you can talk to them as well....but, I will give you this, a cold air intake upgrade, a performance tune, a better exhaust system is a good start....search "TVT Kit" "Needswings" Mercedes Benz cold air intakes "Eurocharged" and lastly, Inmotion....there are threads about all these companies, and what they do...you choose....good luck, and welcome...
The short answer is yes.
If it's a 6spd, you can benefit from a thing called the "Sprint Booster". It will reduce the throttle lag and increase throttle responsiveness which is helpful when shifting.
also,
You can try doing what I did with mine which involved replacing the injectors with much larger ones, a cold air intake, and a tune.
I worked with these guys called "TVT". It was not a pleasurable experience but their product defineately works and maybe they're doing better these days.
There's a lot of decent people here. Check the forum for your region and you can meet some of them.
Have fun!
