I'm looking at buying a 2004 Coupe and I'm not entirely sure if it's a good deal or not.
The car is selling for around $10,000 and has about 57,000 miles on it.
But I'm also trying to get some other information about these cars.
I'm about 6 foot 2, is there going to be enough room or am I going to feel crammed?
And finally, how is the engine? Are they reliable? If something does happen to go wrong, are they expensive to fix?
Any information is appreciated.

Thanks,
Aaron

Welcome in,
You asked alot of questions that many before you have also asked. Yes, we have members 6 foot plus that fit no problem. The engines are good as MB built them. Like all cars it has some quirks but they are minor and with the EXTENSIVE info, knowledge and downloads on this forum you will never be left in the dark. This is perhaps one of the top forums going today....funny huh cause the crossfire seems so rare and ambiguious.

We just had a new member buy an 04? with 10k miles for $10k. your sellers asking price seems ok but I'd base my decision on how the prior owner took care of it. Perhaps they were even a member here which would be a huge bonus. Id try to get the price down some. Unless the car is pristine, there are other newer models for around that price.

Yes they are expensive to fix, a CHRYSLER aftermarket warrenty is a huge plus, I got one for 2500 bucks.

Try the search engine for even more help, theres hundreds of threads on everything you can think of. BTW post where you are and maybe some other members in your area can tell you more about that specific XF you're looking at etc.

Most problem areas are sticky ingition key, seat heaters, loose fog lamps to name a few

Welcome again

I just paid $9750 for mine. It had 55k on the clock. Mine is near showroom condition. I think these cars are a real bargin and from what I've gathered on this forum I think most folks take good care of these cars. What part of the country are you in?

Aaron, if you are 5'2" you will be uncomfortable. But these are fun cars.

I know a dealer that has a new 2004. They sold me my SRT two year ago for 53% of the list price.because they were desperate. They wanted 51k I offered 25k they accepted 27.5. This new 2004 has been on the lot for six years. Make a super low ball bid and you can probably get for about what you plan to pay for a used one. CLIPPENGER (SP?) I can see that I already posted this and I can't even find the dealership on the web anymore, sorry for the double post.

Welcome to the forum Aaron. I'm 6'2" and I fit in my 04 fine. My knees are pretty close to the dash board, and I have about an extra inch of head room. It's no SUV, and a little snug, but I've been comfortable enough in it to drive over 12 hours straight with no complaints. There are many owners taller than me who own coupes, all it takes is a few minutes playing with the power seat adjuster to find the "sweet spot".
As for the price........all I can tell ya is, mine has 53k miles on it and I wouldn't take $13 grand for it.
