Falken FK 452
I am considering installing the Falken FK452 tires on my 05 Roadster ($768 out the door at Discount Tire).
The 2 concerns I have after reading a bunch of user reviews are:
Do they develope a flat spot when sitting for a few days and you have to drive 50 miles to make them round again?
Does the tread go to h*ll after 10-20k normal driving?
The reviews are conflicting on both these issues.
Thanks.

Just got mine 4 months ago. They do not flat spot when sitting and my car sits weeks at a time. I was a little disappointed that the tire noise was still as bad as the Continentals and handling was about the same but the price was right. Time will tell how long they will last.

I have 12K on mine and love them. I won't compare them to the OEM Contis they replaced because I really did not like them. Handles very well, quieter than OEM (roadster). Great tire at the price.
Replaced the Michelin PS2's on the rear, after 17000 miles on them, with the 452s ...... after 5000 miles they still have nipples and no noticeable wear. I have a roadster SRT, and notice no more noise than before. Car sits for up to 2 weeks, and don't notice flat spots. Even if they had, a short run (not 50 miles) would take care of them. Just do it, you won't be disappointed .......
I have those tires on my aftermarket rims and I like them a lot. They are summer tires and only rated for 10k miles and they work great in the rain as well. The price your paying is a bit steep though. I got mine for about $500.

WHERE???
I'm all ears : )
When I bought my rims I bought the tires with it so they gave me a discount and mounted and balanced them for free. You can buy the tires themselves though anywhere from 550-600 though.

For an extra $40, I like the option of simply walking up to a counter and pointing my finger to get it fixed
It seems wrong that it's far cheaper to skin a Corvette than a Crossfire
but if this is the reality, then Discount's price is reasonable.
Update!
After a few spirited miles through the Dragon and some more high-speed twisties on the way home, my rears are down to the wear bars. 16K. The fronts are great.
Oh, well-$187 each (275/30-20).

Got the Falken's installed. They're definately quieter and feel softer than the Conti's but maybe that's because they're new.
Discount Tire replaced a broken pressure sensor and rebuilt the other 3 but the stupid light is still on.
I don't know how those things work but maybe I just need to drive a little more.

Dealer or go to a Mercedes mechanic who has the software for the Mercedes. Either should be able to do it. Let us know who did it and cost. My guess is about $100. It will take 10 minutes. It will take 10 minutes if you have the software.

Hi All,
I have Falken 452 for the rear, got both almost new for $150.
I could not refuse the deal!
Tires are well and look good.
I felt a few times that the tires did not hold the 200+ hp, this was on a traffic light tight turn with light rain... just a thought
in the front, I have Sumitomo, you guys should have a look on HTR III... paiod for the front $80..almost brand new.
they pretty much have the same ability to hold the car right!
If I was you , I will buy the DW or DWS continental
they are a blast.. have a look , take your time, find a deal!!!
g. luck
