Ok, if this was even remotely the case, do you not think that he would have immediately sent follow up emails to the individuals that his punk family member sent emails to once he realized that this happened. I would have not let a minute go by before I took action, I would have also personally called anyone affected if I had access to their phone number. Hmmm.... maybe he just overlooked sending a follow up apology email to Boiler!

And, remember..... This is not the first incident with this company.

Ya'll got along jus' fine without me. Some good thoughtful posts, some reasonalble discourse and the usual stuff a sane person wouldn't put their real name too.

Thank the Lord we mostly use Avatars.

Where I have been is in God's country taming nature and pissing off the tree huggers. It's around Branson/Springfield MO. (one of the 10 best places in the world to live BTW even if it doesn't make the "wealthiest" list).

Crumpy and I bought a piece of worthless rock (80 Acres) and are homesteading it for our retirement. Got the blisters and sore bones to prove it. I do love working the land.
We cleared about 5 acres of brush and trees and planted pasture grass in about 10 altogether. Diesel generator ran most of the week along with the gasoline powered Brush cutter and my 1939 Ford 9N tractor. Next spring we get some Methane producing beef on the place.

thanks for askin'

I love that work, too! Cleared about half acre of woods here when I bought this place. Did the same a few years ago up north, to get ready to sell mom and dad's place after they were gone.

It got so I didn't feel right saturday night unless I came home smelling of sawdust and chainsaw smoke!

I just called and talked to him. Here is the conversation we had:

Me: Hi, is this grill tech?

him: yeah, how can I help you?

me: I have a question and I was wondering if you cared to answer?

him: yeah go ahead

me: I am from .org and I have heard that you have told one of the members that you didnt care what he thought about your product. Why did you feel the need to answer that way? Do you think that is professional?

him: Well.. I didn....

me: (cut him off) Well I dont care what you say. Have a great day!

hang up.

would have been hillarious

Wish I could take my Xfire to the place but it is so remote only 4X4's can get to it. My One ton Dodge is a RWD but I have four tires back there and seem to get away with it in dry weather.

No, Cisco Springs is Xfire free. Sad because some of the paved roads around the area make the Dragon look tame.

I can see this is going to get ugly real fast.

The guy made a bad decision that'll end up costing him sales, why can't everyone just leave it at that.

Letting your wallet do the talking is the way to go. I'm not so sure that everyone calling up and harassing this guy speaks well of us as a group.

Agreed. While I think his actions were horribly unprofessional, I think he has certainly learned his lesson and will have many of these grills on his shelf for some time....

A GRILL goes on a BBQ.
A GRILLE goes on a car.

Are these grilles made of aluminum? They look like it, if so the salt will really love them in the winter in the north here if they are not a special marine alloy.
If they are anodized, which I doubt, they cannot be polished or the protection will be removed. Keeping them shiny will be a major hassle. Cleaning between the slats will be a real headache.
Look at your engine block to see the effect of moisture on aluminum, add salt and you have a real mess.

Goddammit, SHUT THE HELL UP!

I've tried being nice about this and reminding you all that THIS IS NOT THE POLITICS SECTION. For political bullshit slinging, take it there. I prefer to not hate a bunch of you after coming here, and by staying out of that section, I have seemingly accomplished this so far. Not to sound like your Mom, but KNOCK IT THE **** OFF. You can read right? Vegas has made it clear that he would not be discussing politics if you wouldn't keep pulling him back in. Who brought up politics again? You did.So, assuming you're an adult, act like it. Drop the subject.

And FYI, a liberal politician is not the opposite of Republican. There are 2 major political parties in the U.S., the Democratic party and the Republican party. There are two political extremes- liberal and conservative. You can be a liberal or conservative Republican just like you can be a liberal or conservative Democrat.

Regardless, SHUT THE **** UP. Seriously.

And congrats, this is the first time in my 3 years of being here that I've had to really get on someone's case about something. I've never had a problem with you before, and I'm not trying to now, nor will I hold this against you, but there's a place for this stuff and you know that as much as I or anyone else here does.

I find much wrong with this thread, but you are without doubt the most disturbing. Rants such as yours are among the reasons that I don't come here more often. You surely should overlook what you do not like; instead you contribute to it by this outburst
I am sorry to be so compeled to even write this brief comment. (without profanity)

Shapeshifter.....

I thought you were a good guy until I just read your post. Rude and obnoxious.... And bad language. You just went down a few notches in my book. What is the matter with you? You need mental help. Now you are sounding like a liberal....

You would be much happier over at The Spaceport V4.0 (Powered by Invision Power Board) We moderate so heavily there that IF anyone makes a political comment outside the "range", we mods delete the comment and issue a reminder (or warning if it keeps up).

But, this board is not moderated so heavily.

And I must say, I had to get used to the loose moderation here. But over time, I am actually happier here than the board I moderate! Why?

Because, as Rush Limbaugh says, "The human spirit yearns more for freedom more than for anything else."
I believe THAT is where all the references to "acting like a liberal" are coming from, you seem to think it is your place to speak for the mods. It isn't.

I have a big interest in talking with them to be sure they know that I am a good friend of John here and also serve as a moderator on this forum.

I want to express my thoughts about the way they treated a potential customer and let them know that a thread was created as a result of the rude reply John received.

Regardless of how John's message was percieved or what mood the person who replied was in at the time of this response...IMO they replied in an unprofessional manor.
I have tried to reach this vendor for some time now.
They have been impossible to find, I assume they are no longer in business.
