I'm Moving On! Yippee
Well, I think both sides are right. I was moonlighting with a Chrysler dealership here locally for years...they have grown into a 5 star dealership over the years, and I still get treated like an employee...but, would not buy anything from them anymore...the kids have taken over so to speak...they now use the car auctions to maintain their used lot...rather than lease turn in's or customer trades...god knows what you are buying anymore. As for margins, I have seen their mark ups, because I buy from their book...I also get buy rate on all loans and leases...but, even with those perks, you still don't know much about the used lot...so unless I'm buying new...it isn't a help...I was always a jeep nut...the only reason I worked there, was my jeep experience in the "off road" world...but either way, I agree with Kim, and as for the "cash" thing, try this....never mention the cash...go in the finance office and make your best deal....take a deap breath, and say, you know, the hell with it...what's your best cash deal....they have now just invested a lot of time in you, back and forth to the GM, or Sales Mgr....oh, and one other point, always go in at the end of the month,....but, that is how I play it with other dealerships...but don't have to at my old dealership...we either make deal or we don't...

I honestly wanted a CtsV when I bought the Crossfire but it was $30k+ at the time, and I still cant afford a car that expensive. That thing is sick! I'd be excited too..
