autozone recharge battery BE AWARE and need legal advice
I dropped off my battery to have it recharge last wednesday. came back to get it on monday.
The battery is gone.
According to them, they disposed it. $140 battery!!!
Any of you can give me a few advices or ideas, in case i want to take them to court
I have a claim ticket saying . pick it up by the next day.
Nothing saying that after 3 or whatever days they will trash it!
So in case I take them to small claim court but let me know if I have a chance to win
I am in Houston Texas
Thanks a lot,
And now you know, what will happen to your battery if you leave there more than 2 days.

Hi,
I talked to the store manager and the district manager. they will not do anything
this is the store #1471 on Montrose blvd Houston.
( when you go to the dry cleaning, I believe by law they have to keep your items for 30 days)
I would like to know if this is the case in that particular case.
ANd if it should be notified to the claim ticket to the customer, which is not the case.
I do not mind to take them to the small claim court, it does cost $100 but will like to do so if I am in my right.
Let me know guys.
Thanks a lot

Even cheaper: tell them that unless your battery is replaced, you will make spreading the word about your terrible customer representation your hobby for the next few months.
Letters to the editor are free. Paper printouts tacked to every lightpole in your city will cost $15.

Wrist rocket + ball bearings + store windows = $140.00
But be sure to do it at night, wear rubber gloves, wash berrings in alcohol, take note of where the store cameras are, wear a hoody and sunglasses, dont leave tire tracks in dirt/snow, get rid of wrist rocket 2 towns over, soak gloves in gas/burn them..and use your exgirlfriends car.
Or walk in there calmly, buy 2 big gas cans , road flares a bag of shop rags and ask the manager to ring you up.
Or pay a localgang member 100. to tag the crap out of the store
Yes, I do watch CSI and Bones alot

what does the claim ticket say ? Anything about how many days you have to it pick up ? Im like you dont let them get away with their screw up, no matter what they where wrong !!! They should at least pay for half the cost of new battery !!! Stay on them !!!

If you got caught and were taken to court your defence would be you were getting your $140 back? Some defence.

I believe this is the Customer Service number 1-800-288-6966.
This is from the Auto Zone Culture of which they should be reminded!

What happened to you sucks, but it is pretty common for the 2004 Crossfires to be getting new batteries. Was your the original? I assumed it might be since you have a 2004 with 30,000 something miles. Why did you take the battery out of th car? If it was dead, you could have jump started it and with some driving around it would have rehcarged if it was good. You may have needed a new battery anyway.

For batteries, we have stores like BatteryPlus that are outstanding for any kind of battery you might need. I'd recommend that place over any AutoZone-type establishment. I haven't had ANY luck with any car part chain.
Sorry to hear this max. But if I were you I go to the manager every day and be a pest to him. Hey man it's $140 not 140 pennies... I won't ever buy at autozone "EVER" again!! It's bull when stores think they have the right on items that aren't their's. Goodluck getting someback on this.

Hi Guys,
Thanks a lot for all your reply.
The ticket claim just says
pick up by Thursday 6th
and nothing else!
So my point is too know if I am in my right to pursue them.
Even to know if I have a case ( a small case ) to take them to the small claim court!
The battery was a new one ( 3 months old ) sitting in the garage. I just wanted to have it checked and recharged before using it!
Thanks for all the good jokes and ideas. you guys are funny
So if for any reason, one of you knows a bit about legal stuff, let me know!
I am kind of ( pissed) for the poor communication
Are they not supposed to have a sign or tell you that they will trash your battery after a few days.
I know that I am awesome and so good looking ;-) but how the F... I am supposed to know that!!! Geezzz
Thanks again guys,
So watch out for your batteries! AT AUTOZONE

HOWEVER, I would still complain as much as possible and try to get your money back a different way. Whether it's calling the HQ or badgering the local store that did it, don't stop. If there's one thing I learned from working retail, the more of an ******* you become, the more likely the company will just give you what you want.
