Default Interior lights/gauges blinking

On the way into work the last 2 days, I have experienced everything on the dash blinking 2-3 times and then going back to normal. It is very strange in that there are no adverse affects, just everything blinks several times, and the ALL the gauges zero out, then back to normal. When it happened the first day, I thought it was wierd, but wrote it off, when it happened at nearly the same time the next morning, I knew something was up.

04 NA coupe with a new battery

Thanks!

Not in this car, that is what is throwing me off. And the fact that the gauges are zeroing out and all....

Do you have a capacitor of any kind in your setup?

Simple explanation would be fuse #37 loose or an ignition switch problem possibly connected to fuse #35.
I cannot see a relay in the circuit which could cause the power loss momentarily.

Problem solved.

The original owner installed HIDs in the car and they were operating perfectly so I did not ever mess with them. It turns out one of the ballasts was going bad and just barely flickering one of the HIDs and the ballast was buzzing, this was causing ALL my strange electrical issues.

Anyone with HIDs please keep this in mind, I would not have thought this would be the case, I figured if something was wrong the bulb would simply stop working, but instead it was messing with the car and appeared to be working properly, until you really got down there are looked and listened....

Noted and stored in the memory, which these days is acting more like DRAM than RAM.
The D stands for doddery as in doddery old sod.
This has to be a first.

I figured the last I could do was post the solution, as elementary as it is, it is the first time I have come across anything like this.

The balast was corroded on the underside of one of the plugs....

.
Interesting. Not sure if it helps but they were installed about a year and a half before you got the car, so I figure in 2008ish perhaps? It might be on the forum here. So they lasted at least 3-4 years.

Source: Original owner of above car AKA installer of the lights.
