Default A busy weekend!

So, what have all of you accomplished over the weekend? I got my car back saturday morning brought it home and the work began starting with the black grill upper and lowers followed by fixing my door handle re soldering the alarm module (I hope this works I'm tired of having no interior lights!) Next I changed the spark plugs what a job this was!! Never again not until it quits running! Then I gave the girl a bath and put my eurocharged decals on! Once I finished the decals i noticed these horrific plastic chrome letters on my hatch! I quickly removed them using the tried and true dental floss and heat gun. The glue was a much different story a mix of gas polish and WD40 took it off with a little muscle. Just as i finished cleaning up the ol lady came out to investigate how the mowing was going... Not pleased not even a little! Then the house work began

I worked at the restaurant (again, always).
Hell I'd even enjoy playin' with a BLACK Crossfire at this point.

My poor babies miss my touch and I miss touching them!

First of all, NICE CAR!

I spent my weekend with a chainsaw, clearing brush from the Pine Mountain Trail in FDR park near Columbus, GA. Had a blast with 50 other nature and trial lovers - and we opened up about 9 miles of trials by clearing over 1/2 mile of HEAVY damage.

My time with my car will be during the evenings this week....

I'm not 100% sure but i know that it sticks tight!! i just laid it down with out putting any pressure on it and i couldn't move it after that! So after a few weeks in the sun I think removing it would be a real chore thats why I put it on my window surround lol

What have I accomplished? I'm going to have to start a thread about my recent saga with my crossfire--between some bodywork and unrelated dealership issues, my car is STILL in the process of being put back into factory freshness. Oddly, the car itself has been great, it's a combination of me being a bonehead and the dealership being incompetant that has been a huge problem!

I will say though, that I think must have replaced about 30% of the interior and exterior in the last 3 months and never had a problem getting anything for the car. That includes a $5k wiring harness that was required to fix a $10 part.

I know this drill if you look in my gallery I had a deer run into the side of my car.... Maybe due to the fact I have tinted side markers.... Not sure if this is related or if it was a blind deer regardless 1 month later and endless hours spent on the phone with the body shop I got it back. Not 3 seconds of being in the car 2 dash lights came on which stated a burnt out light bulb which i was charged for and never replaced and the stability control light which went off after removing the battery and hasn't come one since???? These just being minor I replaced the bulb when I got home but then discovered they never fixed my door handle 3hrs of tearing the door panel off I fixed the handle all of which the body shop was paid to do... Very disappointed with them and will never take anything back!

You definitely should have taken the car back to shop if you paid for something that was never done. That's where my headache currently lies. The dealer fixed the major complaint, but in the process made several careless errors. There were more things wrong with the car when I got it back then when I originally gave it to them.

I'm on month 2 dealing trying to get the dealer to right their wrongs. You gotta have a lot of patience with these guys it seems. And, at least with my dealer, you gotta be ok with driving around in a beat down Dodge Caravan as a loaner. That annoys me as much as the repair! Who the eff wants to drive a freakin minivan who doesn't already own one? Nobody! And to make matters worse I was given one that was 6 years old with 103k miles. I likely wouldn't be this worked up if they gave me a sedan. I don't care if it's a caliber or an avenger---anything is better than a minivan.

I need to stop before I continue on this rant. Oh, and I also found that I need to get a bit more body work done before the car is perfect and that's another $350, not including the hardware, which I bought several weeks ago and is sitting at my house.

I got lucky the total repair bill was $7200 and state farm bent over and took right up the butt! I just wanted my car back and was tired of dealing with them! Not to mention I had all my parts to put on and get it tuned! How ever they did do an awesome job with the paint and body work which is why I chose that particular shop!
