Odd new behavior

A couple of weeks ago I paid a local garage to install a fuel filter I bought from Rockauto.com. Part & labor added up to <$80.....dealership wanted a total of $300. Supposed to be done at 60K miles.

The one time I got bad gas from BP (they admitted & paid for everything)...it took about 4-5 miles for the misfires to occur....barely made it to the dealership.

Yes. And model, trans, etc.

I don't understand how cars can run this badly without giving a code. Could the engineers be masking problems of short duration from us that can only be read with Chrysler priority code?
