What are you folks doing with your arms to make that cup holder come up when you drive? I have the manual, never brought it up on accident. Heck, I have to push it in two or three times to make it come up when I want it.

Also, maybe I'm a freak with short arms, but I know I'm not, so maybe yours are extra gangly :P , but my arm is never actually on the cup holder while I drive. Maybe if only my right cheek were in the seat and I was looking out the passengar side of the windshield...

Anyway, I like the cup holder. It doesn't hold my 52 oz coffee, every morning, but no cup holder does. Works great for all pre-packaged drinks short of a 2-liter (cans, 12 oz bottles, 20 oz bottles, fago glass, v8, all no problem). I'd rather it hold the small ones tight and i'll manage with the big ones, than the other way around. (My transam would never hold a can when going around a corner and they are too small to crotch em and drive aggressively).

Stupid piece of monkey $h1t cupholder.

I'm just joking. Maybe mine is more sensitive than you guys. It pops up all the time just from resting my arm on it. Maybe I have a heavy arm. Maybe I need to have DCX replace the cupholder under warranty for hyper sensitivity.

I just hate the cup holder. So far the only function the stupid thing serves for me is to gork me in the elbow when it pops up. Mine is broken from being whacked by my arm. I must put it down 3 times an hour. I tried taping it down. That lasted about a month. If anyone knows how to trap the thing down short of glue or screws let me know.

I only need a cupholder when my copilot is with me and then I have 2, even though she squawks at being the cupholder.

I have yet to actually buy my Crossfire yet, can anyone show me a picture of this thing? I cant seem to find a good shot of the interior of the production model that doesnt seem to focus on the radio and HVAC.

Thanks Rob... LOL OMG I though the divet in the console that GM calls a cupholder in my Z06 was bad. But hey... at least this looks like it might hold something. The one in my Vette is litterally a 3/4" deep circle in the console next to the shifter. If I even put a bottle of water in there that is more than 1/4 full it falls right out on the first turn.

Whew!

Sure glad they do not live in a town near me <g> I had to buy a travel cup for mine, and like it. Just wished it had a way to make the holder hold larger cups at times....

And what about the passenger? Can't find theirs...just kidding

i've made my peace with the cup-holder and, as long as i play by its rules and only ask it to hold certain containers, it performs fine. i've sorta gotten to where i like it. it does get in the way of the shifter so i don't usually cowboy the trans if i'm sippin coffee or whatever.

like the window-switches, the cruise lever and the ac system, you have to come to terms with the car on it's terms...and like it. it sure isn't marching to anyone elses drummer...ergonomics-wise.

one cup that really does not work is the chrysler travel tumbler that they sell.

The window switches are an easy do it yourself fix, so scratch that one from the list... For those that don't feel comfortable doing it themself, have the dealer do it. They "are not" supposed to operate backwards no matter what the dealer may tell you.

What do you mean by backwards? When I test drove it last week they seemed right to me... push on the back side to make them go down and on the front side to make them go up.... that is how every other car I have had with PW worked :?:

Yes, the idea with the switches is that you push on the top first to change the window or spoiler or whatever from its original or "standing" state, and then push the bottom to return them to the original state. Once you look at it that way, it's easy to remember how it works.

In later builds (like mine) the window switches are forward for up, and backward for down -- so one test-driven recently probably behaves differently than people with earlier builds have described here.

I had no choice but to mention this after reading the post by the gentleman with the foul mouth. I believe as well as my friend Joaquim does that the european design and function of the cup holder was to maybe suggest that an unstable cup of coffee has no place in a vehicle of this statute. A 12 once bottle of water will more than suffice!!!

Default Cup Holder holds the Cell Phone Just great

I have a Kyocera Smartphone (cell & pda combined) and it fits perfectly in the cup holder

It fits so good that people think it is truly a cell phone holder

As a cup holder it is worthless.....as a cell phone holder I give it 2 thumbs up

That's exactly what I'm saying... and your car works the way it should. On some cars the switches were reveresed.

Nope... you do not have to push on the top first. You're trying to rationalize why the switches are working backwards. Check out other vehicles, not just your XF. The window switches were installed "backwards" on some XF's. Up is supposed to be up, down is down for both the windows and the spoiler. Take a look at the icon on each switch. The top part of the switch has an arrow pointing up... the window should go up. The bottom of the switch has an arrow pointing down... the window should go down. The same applies to the spoiler.

It's an easy five minute fix to pop the switch out, pull off the icon cover, reverse the switch, put the icon cover back on and reinstall the switch. It then works as it should.

Went to the local 'everything you need' (wal-mart, target, kmart, whatever) store and picked up a couple of 'large' cupholders, you know the plastic kind (less that $1 each) that go over the window..... straightened out the "L" shaped holder that is designed to go over the window.... and shoved that new 'Straight "L"' in under each side of the console.......... one on each side, just in front of the seat, located on the floor....... VOILA! Problem solved.....

And yes, I also hit the other with my elbow all the time. I'm over it.

Default CUPHOLDER WHOE'S, OH NO!

I was thinking of buying a Crossfire but now that I've heard about the cupholder I don't think I will..... Ha, If that's the only thing there is to not care for on the car then it's about 10 less things than every other car I've owned. (place tongue-in-cheek emoticon here)
