High beams out, have a few questions...
Okay so my Father owns an '05 Crossfire Coupe and I am not too familiar with Chrysler's as I drive a VW. Anyways, his high beams do not work. From what I have read he needs to replace the turn signal switch and the headlight switch and things will be working again. However, it is a pricey and tedious job and dealerships and Indy's are quoting him at a pretty high price.
So my first question: Are there many part outs on this forum where I can pick up a turn signal switch as well as a headlight switch?? Being that the parts are used there is no guarantee that that they will work, but it is a cheaper solution and is worth a shot. OR does anyone know where to get either at a decent price so we can DIY?
Second question: would driving lights help with night lighting in lieu of high beams? There are cut outs on the bottom of the bumper for them and the owners manual states that if the car came with fog/driving lights, they are controlled by pulling OUT the switch on the dash when the regular beams are turned on. So, as far as installing driving lights, my question(s) are.. The wiring is not already there, is that correct? Will they throw off enough light to take the place of the high beams? If they can be installed, will they work if, in fact, the high beams do not work because the lighting module is bad?
Thanks for the help, let me know if any further information is need.

This may be a really stupid question, but I have to ask because this is the first car I owned that works this way. To turn on the high beams, you must push the lever forward. Did you try that? Seriously? I made that mistake driving my car home the first night.
I can't see both devices being defective at the same time.
And the OEM Fog lights are more for looks than actually doing any good, IMO. In no way will they take the place of high beams, not even close. There are many posts about DIY upgrading the base with fog lights.

It has been reported on here that replacing both is the fix, although both of them being defective at the same time does sound weird, but thats what I have read.
I have tried telling my Father that those are fog lights at the bottom of the bumper, but he states that he has had 'driving lights' down there on previous cars and they are actually very bright. I personally don't see how they can be brighter than headlights, unless they were HID bulbs in there, but they still will not shine farther than head lights becuase they are located so close to the ground.
Can anyone confirm if these 'driving lights' can be done where the fogs are located?

I read post #6 . Anything can be possible. Give it a try if you are at a dead end. I just like to be more sure of things before spending my money.

I really fail to see why both parts would fail at the same time. I would suspect the multi function switch first if the fuses were OK.
These components can be checked out using the diagnoses outlined in the repair manual available here. It is not restricted to SRT6 info as the title implies.

So the question is, does the chime work with the doors open and the headlights on?
