Speakers Behind The Grill? [No Pics]
Speakers Behind The Grill? [No Pics]
Let me say first off that I know absolutely nothing about amps, advanced wiring etc.
Went to go look at a new addition to my Crossfire family and was taken aback.
Why would one install speakers behind the grill of their car? More bass? Outside music for the local corn-dog festival? To look really cool in front of your friends in the Walmart parking lot? Also, if they've been previously installed are these easily removed?
It's definitely weird and ghetto in my opinion. I'll have to pass on anything other than doing some more research on how to remove this dumb modification. Any links etc would be appreciated about the electrical system in this general area and/or pics.

I am not following at all. There are 'speakers' installed behind the grilles directly behind the driver and passenger seats, but if you are referring to the grille in the front of the car having speakers behind it, you are going to have to provide pictures...
Are you sure it is not an aftermarket horn?

Funny you should mention this subject, as I had an experience with one of these complete a$$wholes last evening on the way home from a hard days work. All the way up Orange Blossom Trail I was forced to listen to this amateur or rather immature disk jockey and his G#%D^&$#@ RAP music and I was 3-cars ahead of this clown.
BOOM< BOOM< BOOM for near 20 miles, if I had my 12 gauge I would have removed his grille and those speakers.
I truly hope this answers any questions you have about installing grille mounted speakers. I just don’t have the ability to deal with stupidity that I did 40 years ago.

No, no aftermarket horn. I turned them on, while smaller, they still worked.
I'll try to take pictures in the next few days when I meet with the fellow again.

Pictures please. Any idea how they are wired in?

Ahhh.. memories of youth.. 66 Chevy Impala got some located there, on a switch though. Was great for the days of hanging out in the park.. pop the top on a cool beverage.. and playing football with the classmates. Good times!
Swat team would probably be called in now-a-days.
