Bra!
OK, here's the thing, why would you want to cover up the beauty of the crossfire? Today I saw one of the few Crossfires in my area with a bra on it!. How do you find something like that, a mod maybe? The driver looked to be around twenty five-ish, maybe that explains it. Different generations, different strokes. I dunno, but it didn't look right.
some think it protects the paint and because of this way of thinking some use them on long trips...
either way all it does is get dirt and grim in it and scratches up the paint some more..
that's marketing for you...

I have seen the damage done by them. It might stop chips and scratches but all the dirt that gets trapped under it turns to sand paper. every place it touches the paint, it removes the paint. Rain washes out the big chunks but leaves behind 600grit. I'd rather fix chips than repaint the whole front end. I hope this is informative to some who might be thinking of installing a bra on their Crossfire.

They work great for long trips. If left on indefinately though they can wear the paint.
If I had one on my car when that tractor trailer blew his tire in front of me on the highway, my bumper would have escaped without harm.

Here in Florida you just gota have it. Especially during lovebug season.
I don't use it in town, but on any trip over 50Mi - at night. Take if off a soon as I get where I am going, if I stop over night I take it off. Left it on once -just overnight - fogged the paint under the head light. Fortunately cleaed up.
Was considering the 3M protection but I also have second thoughs because of a couple of posts I saw here about yellowing.

I just took the clear bra off the Crossfire that was professionally installed 3 months ago. It had yellowed, but it wasn't really evident when it was on the car. My XFIRE is SSB, so thats probably the reason I couldn't see the yellowing. We are a bit closer to the sun here in Denver...maybe more UV light...but it seems to me that this happened pretty quickly.
Anyways, I'd rather go the chip repair route than the vinyl bra route at this point.

I've used a bra on my Inferno Red PT Cruiser for over two years and the paint under is perfect. I only take it off to wash the car. I personally like the look and I'm twice 25. I can't tell you how many complements I get.
When my white Crossfire arrives, I'll drive it out of the dealership with the bra. I used bras on a half dozen sports cars over the years and never had a problem.

I also have a Pt Crusier, I use a Bra on it too, have left it on with no problems. The problem on my X-fire was around he headlight where the velcrow like stip slides in under the headlight, it was a small spot t 1/2 inch long. But I didn't want to take a chance. A warning came with the MOPAR Bra not to leave it on especially if it gets wet. Also a lot of sand built up under the Bra on the Xfire, have not had that on the Pt either.

Just a Question for the people who have not experienced any problems with a bra (on a car). Do you live near any farm country or dirt roads and do you drive your cars in the rain? It has been my experience that it is the dust in the air or dirt of the roads that gets in there and does the damage. In Michigan this is unavoidable (except for city hermits that never leave the highrise district or highway). If you remove your bra to wash the car it is my guess that you probably shake the dust and dirt out of it or wash it also before re-installing it back on the car, thereby saving your paint from the abrasion damage. As for only using them while on trips, I think that is exactly the correct use for a bra. Then remove it as soon as you get home and let the beauty of your car shine.
I'm not a big bra fan either, but I have one on mine. It all depends if you drive your car a lot, hardly ever wash it and if you don't cover it. I personally only drive my car maybe once a week to work, I mostly just drive it after work. I drive on the worst freeway in Southern California loaded with semi trucks. I hate taking the chance of rock chips. I also wash my car once a week and keep it covered. If you want one, just wash often and remove the bra everytime making sure to shake all the debris from the felt.

The one time I left it on (two Days), was also the first time I used it It rained the first day. Had a little fogging arount the headlight, it cleared up in a day or so, Now I don't leave it on Rain or Shine.
