Most of the folks on the forum take really good care of their XFs so, if you can buy from one of them, it would be to your advantage. We've had our XF since 2006 and we still love it.

Drive it and if you like it then you just need to find the right vehicle. Good luck!

I really enjoyed reading all the answers to your questions...so here's my take. I was a bowtie guy for years. Corvettes/Camaros was the norm around here. My wife wanted something different and found a XF N/A coming off lease. I had not known about nor did I particularly like the crossfire, but had never driven one so I was game. I looked at it and for the 1st time actually liked the lines of the roadster, especially with the top up. So, I didn't like the deal she was given, so off to search for another. That's when I discovered the SRT version. I said, hell, that has to fast if those guys built it. So, we found a deal and bought it, and brought it home on a cold November day. Within minutes, I had fell in love with the car and it's performance. I won't rattle on, but I now own two, both modified, both stay with about anything in the quarter mile, and damn near everything in the half mile as I recently found out. I miss the vettes, but I don't miss spending that kind of money when I know either I have now will stay with 90% of the vettes out there. Problems, a CPS sensor and an IC pump w/ sensor, on the roadster, nothing on the coupe.

I've had my 2007 base coupe since Oct. of 2008 when I bought it new. The Crossfire is the best sports car value on the planet. You'll get great performance, good handling and lots of admiring looks. Make sure you test drive it for a long time so that you can make sure you like the "feel". There are two things I want to point out to you. There can be a "vinegar" smell after you have used the air conditioning for a while and turn it off. If you are bothered by any kind of smells, watch out. There is a fix for this that includes remembering to hit the "rest" button everytime you leave the car. You can search the forum for help on this. Also, if you are going to be buying a manual transmission Crossfire, make sure your long test drive includes some stop and go in traffic. The first to second shift can be balky at times. You'll get used to it, but just make sure you're OK with it. My Crossfire has been rock solid for five and a half years. Good luck with your search!

I think my wife is having a few second thoughts over her vette and not getting the vert models we were looking at..

That's how much trouble these cars are.. I was all for a second one in the stable..

Drive the car.....you'll either fall in love with it or decide not to buy it. If you buy it anyone on here can make any problem you'll ever encounter seem like no big deal. Chances are you won't have any problems if you look the car over just like buying any other used vehicle do your homework and it will pay off. If you like having a permanent grin as so many of us do then join the group. We have a secret only xfire owners and a few MB C32 people know about. These little cars will make you happy! Honest!
