Default Headlight bulb replacement

I just replaced the headlight bulbs(bright white)...however, the light spread pattern does not "look" right...is it possible to put the bulb in incorrectly?? (like upside down?)

It's more than likely that the bulb is not seated right. Make sure the little tabs are in place and that the bulb is flush. Took me a few tries the first time I did it.

Yes it is I guess but most often they are just not in the socket correctly.
The bulbs go in the low beam side tab down and in the high beam side tab up, or maybe the other way around. The bulb can be moved into the correct position even when held by the spring clip, jiggle it around and if it moves it is not in the pocket, you can jiggle them into the correct position if you are lucky. Of course the tab has to be in the correct up or down position.

I believe you are correct on your tab orientation 180. I was being very meticulous and "positive" I had my HID bulbs in correct. Till I turned them on at night and was aimed about 5 feet in front of the car. Just didn't quite have the tab seated in.

Mrmiata... In view of the fact that you , 180, and witchal have referred to the "tab"...I'm sure that's the problem... mine, too, appeared to project only a very short distance in front of the car.. I will check it early Thur prior to leaving for the DRAGON...It's HERE...Yeeha!!!

The tab here is down.
It clicks into position, you'll know the feel when it happens.

A couple of questions-What do you mean by "bright bulbs/hid bulbs" and was it easy to change the bulbs in either location? I have changed the bulbs by myself and had alot of trouble getting the clips back on,and I have had a quick lube place replace the bulb and it took them less than 3 minutes.Either way,I will not attempt this task again as the quick lube way is the best way to go!
