Interior Lights Stay On
So I didn't drive my car at all today, and my mom got home and said that my lights were on. I go out and the two interior dome lights and trunk light are on. I spent about 45 mins in the dark trying everything I could think of to get them to turn off.
I played with both door latches and opened and closed all the doors. I turned on car and drove it around for a few minutes. I pulled all fuses under the hood, and the #9 fuse in the interior fuse box. I disconnected the negative battery terminal for about 5 minutes and plugged it back in. Trunk hasn't gotten wet.
After all that, the lights are still on. Anyone have any other suggestions? Car is a 2004 coupe with 25k miles on it. In July I had the SKREEM module and the ignition cylinder housing replaced if that may have something to do with it.

Make absolutely no sense. If, as you say, you pulled fuse #9 and the lights stayed on,
then check the liftgate lock switch. Perhaps it is causing the BCM to supply the voltage on pin 75 ?

I have never been able to locate anything in the schematics that is related to the fog lamps staying on.
I 'think' it is a function of the LCM ( headlight switch, but have nothing to back that up )

I have a feeling when I track down the dome light not timing out I'll also be resolving the fog light courtesy .. just figuring out "for sure" what's controlling it is the fun part..
Most likely true ....
It appears in the fog lamp and interior light circuits.
Water damage?

I really have a feeling that's where I'm going to find the issue.. this is in the car fax.. Not that any of this was a deal breaker on buying the car.. I know a good place for help.. LOL.

Where do I get access to that switch? I don't see anything sticking out like on the doors. When I pull 9, should they go out no matter what the dome controls are set at and whether i manually have the lights on? And does the trunk light come on if the doors are open, or just if the trunk is open.
The dome lights and the trunk lights are common to the same circuit, so you get them all.
The switch is INSIDE the latch assembly for the trunk.
I am only familiar with the roadster, on it the assembly is in the trunk lid.
I'm not sure about the coupe, from the parts listing, it is in the hatch lid.

Since you can leave the doors/trunk open and the system will time out and turn the lights off after about 8 minutes or so.. this could test if the issue is a switch or deeper as in my issue..
The light was on all night last night in my car and never timed out. So that means its a deeper issue? Any idea of where to start? If it is, i'll just take it down to the dealership and let them sort it out. I've got insurance.
Might get others opinions on this.. but I would think so.. "bad switch" would just say "door open".. and the system does time out with an open door. Do your fog lights / exterior lights come on if you start the car.. turn them on.. then turn off lights - car.. and exit vehicle? If not sounds like we might have the same issue going..
I went out driving last night (Had to put tape over the lights to see) and I'm sure at some point I did what you said, and they didn't stay on. I tried to take the car to the MB dealership and they said they can't look at it because it's part of the Chrysler shell. Took it back to Chrysler, and I have an appointment for 10 tomorrow. I'll take it down there and hopefully they can figure out the issue and get it fixed.
One more thing to add, is that I can hear a faint whining noise inside the car. It changes pitch if I put hit the on/off dome light switch, or change the toggle on/off. Does yours do that?

I have adult child and grandkids at home.. I try to tune out everything.. LOL.
Actually haven't noticed anything.. but will pay attention this evening when I get home.. And yeah I'm surprised dealership even gave you time of day (MB).. LOL. They hate us and our cars.. unless we're there to buy a new car.. LOL

Hopefully Chrysler can fix whatever it is. They took nearly 3 weeks to fix the skreem module last time I had it there, which is why I was hesitant to bring it back.
Went and checked.. quiet as can be.. At least if they resolve yours.. it will give me something to look at other than then central locking system connections.
THere is a fuse #9 under the hood and another one in the dash fuse box.
