Default (*) Mobil 1 0W40 Versus 5W40

Checked out my local Wal-Mart and they had no Mobil 1 0W40 on the shelves.

But they did have Mobil 1 5W40, and it was on sale.

Can I use the 5W40, or would you recommend hunting down the 0W40, sale or no sale.

I'm in central Florida, so super freezing temperatures are not the issue in my local.

Any advice appreciated...

Thanx...

Its on the latest 229.3 list, so why not?

MB 229.3 - Multigrade engine oils (Specification 229.3) - Mercedes-Benz Specifications for Operating Fluids

I'm running 5W50 in the heat of summer and 0W40 right now.

Mobile 1 only, of course.

Pizza Guy ~ Thanx for the speedy response.

I'm heading back to WallyMart and loading up on 5W40.

All I need now is a fleece filter, and I'm good to go...

Kodebuster, 5W-40 should work just fine for normal temps. However, if it is REALLY cold, I would recommend the 0W-40.
