Congrats on your new purchase.
Since you got the Limited Coupe, there is little, if any difference between the 2004 & 2005.
There is good bottom end torque but if you have a 6speed manual, you will find that the ratio in first is really low. However, I find that with my 6spd the power really comes on in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears. I have altered my exhaust (see my gallery) and I believe that this has improved higher end performance. I also believe this is one of the things you have to mod to improve your engine performance. I haven't chipped but possibly will next spriing. Freer flow air intake will help as well.
Enjoy your car and take the mods one step at a time.
Re: newbie
mbepic,
i do have the 6-speed. The exhaust mod takes a factory partial dual pipes and runs full from headers to exhaust separate? What was approx. cost?
I got a quote of $900 to do the Upsolute chip. Probably will hold off for awhile on that.
What is the accecelerator limiter mod?

Re: newbie
Approximate cost was $550 Cdn ($400. US) .
Because it is fully custom work, the price will depend on who you get to do the job and the cost of tips, converters or whatever else you might use to replace muffler. You will likely want to replace muffler with something because sound is much louder without and very harsh. Can't help you on the Accecelerator limiter mod.

Re: newbie
There is not an "ACCELLERATOR" limiter per se. There is a rev. limiter which cuts the engine at 6,300 +/- rpm, to prevent you from turning it into metal shavings. And there is a top end speed limiter which cuts the engine at 155 mph.
Chipping your car should increase the rev. limit by 1,500 rpm +/- but they will not remove it completely. As far as the top end speed limiter I don't know anyone who is effected by being limited to 155 mph. Even on the track, the car doesn't have the ponies to reach those speeds even on the lonegest straightaways before you have to start braking for turn one.
MBEPIC is right. (1) Aftermarket Exhaust for sure. $650.00 (2) Aftermarket high flow air intskes. $80.00 (3) Aftermarket ECU remap. $600.00 (4) And Racing Suspension $700.00 (IMO Very Important) is all you'll really need for 25% improved performance.
Have fun
