Default Both ear drums busted...

Ok fellas i hit an all time low today. I wanted to disconnect my battery just to eyeball the RCM and right as I lift the negative terminal off the battery the alarm goes off and my baby starts acting like she doesn't know me anymore and just keep crying till i reattach the damn thing, how to i properly disconnect/reconnect this 2005 prom queen's battery without offending it?

Make sure it isn't locked? It thinks you're stealing it.

I never disconnected the battery to remove the RCM, never had any problems.
I've probably had it out 15 or so times for one reason or another.
( I swap in RCM's that I have repaired to test them ( like tighed1 ) )

That's what I'm saying : I don't TOUCH the battery at all.
( but maybe I'm just lucky, don't take this as advise, the SAFE route is to always disconnect the negative battery terminal before doing anything electrical )

Fuses are normally good or bad - no in between on them. If the fuses are good, there would be no reason (that I can think of) to replace them.

Replacing the RCM relays is not for the faint of heart, or an inexperienced electronics technician with the proper un-soldering equipment,
besides, the only relay that should even NEED replacing is the secondary air pump relay.
All you should be concerned with is cold solder joints ......

What is the original issue that is causing you to eyeball the RCM ?

the secondary air injection issue. I bought enough relays to replace all five and was gonna also pick up some fuses. But I have no experience in soldering. I'll go visit this R/C hobby shop tomorrow by my house to see if they might be able to do it. only issue left till im roaring on the road

OK, just worry about the air pump relay, never heard of any issue with the others.
Send your spares to tighed1 if you want to help other forum members

Look in the yellow pages for a Motorola/Kenwood radio shop. They should have SOMEONE who can solder. Even if they charge you an hour, most areas, that would be $75 to $90.

Or box it up and send to me, Ala_x or Tightd1.

tighed1 ( DJ ) will probably do it free if you include the relays, he usually charges $25 for the relay replacement.
He'll also maybe throw in the "Me So Horny" mod

It allows you to blow the horn without having to turn on the ignition.

BTW, tighed1 is in Sierra Vista, AZ
