Default spoiler question.

I have searched the threads on spoilers, but none answered my question. Does anyone know the composition ? I have some blistered paint on the leading edge of the spoiler. The two body shops that I have had look at it..all have made a BFD out of it. The blisters are not that bad, in fact they can barely be seen, but i want to arrest & resolve whatever issue this is. The shops have both used the word "rust"..but I`m pretty sure the spoiler is plastic coated aluminum...yes or no ? Any one else have this problem?

Yep, I did that which is why I assumed it was aluminum. I guess I`ll just fit it with the grinder & see whats up..........

The underside of the spoiler is steel, I'm not sure what the outside cover is made of, but I think it's some sort of plastic.
Moisture can get inside the spoiler and it will corrode. When your spoiler is in the up position any accumulated moisture can build up at the leading edge of the spoiler, and when it starts to corrode it will bubble up "under" the outside skin.
