Thanks ahead of time for participating!

Had the hatch rattle when the spoiler went up and on a dirt road. Just stopped into the dealer and they fixed it right up.

Had a remote control car once that was belt driven; don't think it was a Crossfire though.

My brother had a John Deere snowmobile that was belt driven, it was called the Spitfire. Used a belt instead of a chain case to drive the track.

Must be somethin' about 'fire's....

Oh yeah... nearly 2000 miles and no problems so far.... might have the start of a hatch rattle.... I've got to turn the music down more often...

The ony real problem for me seems to be in my opinion, is excessive wind noise from the door windows. I did have the light behind the tach go out for a few weeks and then come back on before.
I could take it to the dealer. I have 25K miles now and hope I find all the problems before 36k.

They do make them with some good 6 speeds, I seem to have one. Push for a new one if it continues as it is not the "Norm" for them to pop out of gear. However, can one of the fellows who is computer savy, do a pole of 6 speed owners and we can see how prevalent it really is?

Occasional problems with mine as well, but haven't taken it to the dealer yet / less than 10K miles... what is your VIN# last 8#'s and maybe we can finally get these DC knuckleheads to fix it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Auto stick had a sensor leak fixed by o-rings. But trans was over filled after the fix. I believe it was not all drained out due to viscosity. It is thick. Or he put fluid in till it showed full. and then rest drained down. the over fill leak was right on cross over pipes. number 2291

Where can I find a true list of recalls on the XF? Also, my disply on the stereo is VERY dim... is there a way to fix it or should I just replace it with an aftermarket headunit? Window switches appear to be backwards. I believe pushing up should make them go up not down... which is right which is wrong? German made so, maybe it's just the way Germans expect things to move when you push them that is...
Also, I noticed on the headlight switch, I can pull the switch out two clicks. One for the foglights, but the second one does nothing. My passenger seat is supposedly an 8-way seat, but it does not go up and down. Making a list of defects (previous owner probably never found) and will take it to the shop to have repaired when the key comes in from Germany next month.

The dim radio display and backwards window switches were a problem on very early build numbers. You should be able to get them fixed at a Chrysler dealer. Do a search and there is a post on fixing the window switches yourself if you desire. The second position on the headlight switch does nothing on US cars. It is for rear fog lights on European cars. Only the driver seat has 8 way power. The passenger is only 4 way.

You can get a list of actual recalls here:
http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/pr...callsearch.cfm
So far there haven't been any actual safety recalls on the Crossfire. I don't know of anywhere you can get a complete list of service bulletins, at least not for free. You can get some of them from the NHTSA website.
