Should I Turbo?
Re: Should I Turbo?
Thanks Grip! 11.30 @ 128mph is my best to date (last year). Had some issues this year and only put 500 miles on the car. UPD built me a 10" converter and the 3.27 rear gear should help push near 11 flat with a good pass. May throw some more boost at it if all goes well next year.
Re: Should I Turbo?
The Motor in the 6 is designed and programmed to handle boost.
Very impressive results!
Re: Should I Turbo?
Your not supposed to notice that his has nothing to do with this.. LOL.
Re: Should I Turbo?
No, my car is not twincharged. I do not see the point of forcing air from a turbo into an already inefficient supercharger (airflow) after a small pulley upgrade.
Re: Should I Turbo?
It has everything to do with it, you of all people should realize that. If it was sooooooooo easy to do on an SRT-6, than why I am the only turbochargered SRT-6? After 11 years of the N/A, no has been able to make one run beyond an idle. I am stating the fact that rather than waste time and money on something that will net gains similar to a stock SRT-6 at best, spend the money more wisely.

And your going to convince us a car that "sees" boost is just as difficult as a car that doesn't?
And as far as the "why" question.. because that is where you decided to throw your money.. I'd say by numbers alone the S/C V-8 swap has proven more popular.

Re: Should I Turbo?
There are a ton of platforms that out perform a 17 year old recycled Mercedes chassis. I never said I spent money wisely or that my car is making high horsepower. To each their own. I wanted to do something unique, and I did. If I had to do it over again I would have never bought a Crossfire.

I know I, admire the work you have done, and an impressed with your results, and I am sure Greg is too. I brought it up because the conversation was about turboing an NA (AGAIN) and like You I always recommend to those with a need for speed to just buy a 6 and start there. What you siad in this post is EXACTLY what I always say ( and already said in this very thread)
Keep Rockin On Brother.
