Re: dreaded spoiler
Of COURSE it popped back up - the BCM had commanded it to go up (for what every reason) and the limit switches told the BCM it was down - so the BCM put it back up.
The question here is, WHY does the BCM want it up all the time? Take the cover off the module box and inspect for chewed wiring in there (the big box next to the battery). THEN, lift up the mat in the trunk and look for water sitting under there. If both of these show no issues, I'd first guess flaky battery but you have eliminated that.
So, grap the service manual and a voltmeter and check for what voltages you have at the connector pins on the BCM that come from the dash switch - could be, as indicated before, a bad switch TELLING the BCM to raise it (but in 6 years with these cars, I've never seen that.)

Stop adding Viagra to the Fuel Tank................a spoiler erection lasting more than 4 hours? You need to consult the doctor.
Re: dreaded spoiler
When I read the symptoms I see conflicting reports. Obviously the spoiler is not lowered by hand at speed so it is popping up again while stationary. While in the the first post it pops up at speed but does not go down.
When does it ever go down?
I cannot see moisture in the trunk causing these problems.

Re: dreaded spoiler
Right getting somewhere now , central control unit ( motion sensor ) fuse dead , put in a new 5 A fuse and it blew again so used a 10 A and spoiler working , only problems now are is it ok to run this on a 10 A fuse ? And I bust the lower limit switch so when I put it down it pops back up , but a least I know what the problem is , fingers crossed

Number 7 : Electronic transmission control (park/reversing lock) ,Photo chromatic rearview mirror and BCM (body control module). It seems like a short but it could be ,something is straining to work properly. Try lubricating the spoiler and the door locking mechanism. I say this because, if the 10 amp fuse is working, "something" is demanding more amperage.
Re: dreaded spoiler
have now lubricated spoiler and locks and all is working well with the right size fuse, the only thing i am now wondering about is that when i turn the car on the light on the spoiler switch comes on for about 3 seconds then off with no other issues , is this normal? . Also am going to reseal the oil breathers next week and am wondering if anybody knows whats the best replacement for the alloy screws, and could i use off the shelf steel ones ?
