Need some opinions if this '04 crossfire is worth buying.
Hi all,
I'm could use some thoughts from you experts who know much more about this car than myself. I found a 04 crossfire for sale, it is a white 6 speed with black leathere interior. It has 83k miles on it an most of the records. New tires and brakes all around. Now once I am 6 hours away I arraigned with its owner to be brought into a dealership to be looked over. The dealerships findings were as follows. Sticky key issue, sagging headliner, speedometer not working along with lights on, p0600 and p1600 code are logged, left headlight is glazed over, valve covers are leaking. The body was in great condition along with its roadtest. The owner came down to 3600 for the vehicle. Is this a fair price for the issues it has or am I better off passing and keep looking?

$3600 is a GOOD price.
Sticky key fix : $0.00
Headliner : < $100 if you DIY
Headlight glaze : @ $25.00 for a DIY kit.
Valve covers : @ $7.00 for a tube of RTV sealant.
As to the codes, that however does not look good. Looks like something broken in the wiring to me :
There are 5 P0600's listed, but they all seem to do with CAN BUS communication.
HOWEVER ! All that just may be as simple as a single blown fuse. Check all the fuses first.

A lot depends on the service history and whether you plan on paying for the repairs or doing the wrenching yourself. There are probably a few more "surprises" lurking, and I would budget for replacing all fluids and the spark plugs/wires (unless the service records show otherwise). Other questions - any accidents; how many owners; orig clutch?

I unfortunately needed someone to check out the vehicle before driving 6 hours. But that was the first thing they said was that they've only seen a few and worked on even less of them

There was an alabaster 2004 near Zeeland MI recently - not that one, I assume? I have not seen it lately but I go by the yard once a week. I did two headliners through an indie upholstery shop recently for $200 a pop, matching the Chrysler fabric.
