Top Speed?
Anyone know the top speed of a stock 2004 auto trans Crossfire? I've had mine up to 90mph, but am too old (and chicken!) to go any faster. I heard someone say 145mph, but that seems a bit high.
I beleive the rev limited will hold you at 152.
I've been to around 130 with mine, the car settles into the road nicely above 100, can't remember what speed but somewhere between 100-130 it felt like the car "set into" the road. That's the best way I can say it.

Exactly ... and, FYI, that continues to be true as your speed increases ... I've driven other cars at speeds beyond 100mph before, but never in a car that settles and sits down the way this one does. In all others, one can feel the car "lift" which decreases the footprint of the tire on the road ... and that lift is what has always scared me before ... I'd have no problem giving the car its head and seeing just how fast it CAN go, but there just aren't many roads on which to do so without fear of the local gendarmes and receipt of a reckless driving citation ...
To chime in on the “settling down” feeling is actually from the rear spoiler. Probably has a bigger effect with the SRT as the wing is bigger.
But, for every pound of drag the wing creates, it puts as MUCH as EIGHT pounds of downward force against the rear holding the car down.
Unsure of the exact specs of either the NA or the SRT. But this seems to be a good ballpark figure looking around online.
So the faster you you go the more “stable” you’ll feel.
Anyway top top speed for the SRT is Geared to 168 I believe which is NOT limited like the N/A.
Feel free to correct me me if I’m wrong!

I have driven the Crossfire at 120 mph (ran out of good road), very solid good response.
Drove a Jaguar at 140, also good response.
Drove a Corvette at 130, it felt like it was barely touching the road, slow response, it actually scared me into slowing down.

Old Garmin GPS had me at 131 in a 6 speed.....car had 18,000 miles on the OEM tires....within a week I noticed the inside edges of all the tires were ...almost shredded. Probably from playing the decreasing radius curve off ramp game. Glad I didn't try going even faster!

I've always heard that both the NA & SRT6 were limited to 155 mph. Looking at the brochure for the 2005 model year, it is stated that the SRT6 was Autobahn-tested at 158 mph, but doesn't say what top end was. The brochure(s) covering NAs state Autobahn-tested at 150 mph w/o a top end listed.
Which I suspect leads to excess front tire wear.
the car is pushed down lower which causes more negative Camber, add to that the rate of speed in corners. (off/on ramps on the interstate.)

I tried out my ‘93 Chrysler Concorde one time and at a hundred it was just fine.
Never got there in a Crossfire, the fine, 30 day confiscation of the car and insurance hikes kill that notion these days. All that happens at the equivalent of 30 mph over the limit.
Sure hope my insurance co. don't see this...rotflmao

I don't know about the NA but SRT6 is electronically limited to 158 MPH, which I had removed with my tune from Inmotion. Now it is aerodynamically limited to about 185. The Crossfire is not one of the most aerodynamic cars in spite of it's sleek look.
