Re: Speaker advise
Also, do the Biggest stereo bang for the buck mod found on the forum. Easy to do and works wonders on pumping up the sub woofers.
Re: Speaker advise
I have a 2005 XF. I put in a new receiver and just purchased a new set of component speakers for the doors. I have a high quality powered sub that I will be using. I am considering using the stock amp to power the doors only and not even using the two small subs behind the seats. What do you think?

my hpf is set at 100 hz an lpf at 120 hz.
Your subs behind seats will nit go as low and sound goid, when using your powered sub.
I am using factory amp pushing 6.5's behind the seat and skar components with tweeters on dash by a pillars and oem tweeters also, with skar class d amp powering a pair of zvx 8's and plenty of room for luggage every week.
Re: Speaker advise
np, glad I could help.
I don't know what head unit you have but most aftermarket head units you can change the lpf and hpf.
as I said I am running 2 pairs of tweeters and love it.
oem in oem spot and the component tweeters on dash, thought about cutting them in the a pillar, but I like the positioning in reference to driver seat atm.
o, I think I left the tweeters plugged in as normal, and the component tweeters on the crossover with the component set, and the wires that went to door speaker going to the crossover.
I have a thread about it and how I mounted the crossover somewhere.

Re: Speaker advise
Great idea. I have never thought about using a second set of tweeters before. I also have never used a set of midbass subs like the ones behind the seat because I have always used a powered sub for bass. It always seemed pointless. I am considering using a set of new Polk 6.5 two ways behind the seat that I have never used. Thanks.
Re: Speaker advise
I have a awesome pair of audiobahn 6.5 but the magnets are to big.
One day, I will install some 6x9 's behind the seat.
just need a set that the magnets will fit in the hole and make a small spacer to space out the 6x9.
and every else I have is skar audio, so will probably get those if they will fit, just always something going on.
