Default spoiler and chamois

I have two questions. How do you use chamois to dry your car? I've never used it before, or heard of it, but i bought some today. Also if the spoiler is raised, wouldn't that cause wind resistance and lower fuel economy?

I've been using a chamois for several years and find it works well for our Crossfire.

Make sure the chamois is wet before you start, or it could cause scratches. Ring all the water out the wipe the car down. You get a streak-less dry car. Looks much better than drying with a towel.

wet the chamois down...ring out the excess moisture...and dry you car a normal. repeat as necessary.

the mpg loss would be so minimal...its not worth the concern.

I use the Absorber - less hassle than a real chamois and works really well to dry off cars. It also should be damp when used.

much agreed... the absorber rocks!

a genuine chamois is made of "leather"...it will aid in wax removal over time. the absorber (is synthetic) works much better & easier to use imo.

I got a dozen micro-fiber towels from Costco for about $10 (it's been awhile, so I don't remember the exact price). They work great for drying the XF.
