Smile Newbie from Oz

G'day all.
Just thought I'd pop in and say hi...hi
My eyes now hurt from reading up on all the tech info threads for the Xfire.
Currently looking at picking up a new Xfire ltd (only kind you can get here).
It was love at first sight and now thanks to a very large drop in price in Australia it's in my reach. One problem, the other half! She drives an MX5 and of course now the new one has come out my dream car has competition for the driveway spot (she won't get rid of her old one)!
Well took her to see one in the flesh, mentioned the slk factor, her dream car, and hey presto she's converted.
Any major recalls or other issues a prospective owner should know about?
Thanks in advance,
Will

No major recalls. You are probably aware of the minor complaints from reading the forum. I have had my coupe for 2 years with no problems. Good luck with your upcoming XF. It should get a lot of attention because it is rare and beautiful.

G'day Will
So far there haven't been any recalls. We have several little issues, but mainly well known and therefore no big deal to fix. See the TSB-Section.

No worries, mate! Get it! Sheila will love the car.

....I think some of the homegrown Australian rides are worth a test drive as well. Such as Falcon GT, Holden Commodore with the 5.7L, Holden Monaro.

I think that a lot of Americans can relate to large, RWD, V8 powered performance cars. Funny that of the aforementioned rides, only the Monaro is sold here in the US (as the Pontiac GTO). OF course, we've got the excellent Chrysler 300C, Mustang GT, and several other muscle car choices here in the states.

These car names remind me Mad Max I/II!

No more Monaro, due to poor sales, mainly because of a ridiculous sticker price for a home grown car, they are now no longer making the Monaro. Pontiac will pick up production of the GTO in Detroit. Monaro is a dime a dozen car over here anyway, love the fact that not every man and his dog has a crossfire, infact only seen 2 on the road here. Not buying a Xfire for it's muscle car'ness not at all, I want a fun car to drive, something different, and of course turn some heads in the process, too easy really!

Will,

I have done 24,000 miles in 16 months and have had no problems with the car. My only problem is getting approval to have it shipped to Perth in 3 weeks time.

If you are local PM me with contact details and I can contact you after I arrive on the 28th October.

How much is the XF in Oz. I saw $70,000AU sticker.
