Is it really "ever" done? I think I'm getting close to getting everything fixed. Here's an updated list of things I know that are still needing to be done. The "things to do" list is getting pretty short from other list! I did paint my rim center caps black today and look good. Now need to find some sort of 2" medallion to glue to the center.
1. Fix hole in trunk. 2. Fix the hatch back lock. 3. Install hood pins. 4. Install new fender inserts
Who knows what kind of tool needed to tighten the interior mirror? I can't twist my neck and head to see inside the two holes of the mirror. Don't really want to replace it but rather just tighten it up so it's not floppy! I added an "over mirror" with dash cam on the OEM mirror.
Here's a link to a thread I found on how to make the mirror tighter: Rearview mirror
Thanks I'll give that a try. Seems like such a weird attachment for a mirror! Once removed I guess I'll have to crimp on the spring attachment to tighten it up. Appreciate the help!
Installed the hood pins this morning. I think it looks ok. Too bad if not because the holes are drilled and just gonna have to live with it. At least the hood is level with fenders and not bouncing up and down. I'm not going to screw the scuff pads on yet and am waiting for my SS ones and flip over snaps to arrive. The screw holes might not be the same. I'll treat for rust prevention on the drilled holes later. Now all I need is some V8 emblems on the sides and a larger fake exhaust! LoL. Don't know that I'd like the plastic coated safety lanyards flapping in the breeze!.
She is starting to look good! If only I could do something with the rims now. They really badly need painting. New black paint on the center caps can only do so much! LoL Trying to find some kind of 2" medallion to glue in the center. Maybe some more white 2" Mercedes logo stickers like I put on my '06 Xfire would work for now!

The hood pins look great! I wouldn't install the lanyards.
I think it needs a hood scoop to clear the tunnel ram ( did I just date myself ? )
You just dated both of us! loL. I've already looked at add on hood scoops on eBay. Problem is to make it look right the hood would have to be painted and that would cost a lot.
My new hood pin set arrived today and is a much better quality than the cheapo I bought previously. Cold tomorrow so I'll replace if weather permitting. Wish I had a garage! I'd like to find a thin rubber membrane to put between the pad and the paint. I think a bicycle tube might be a little thick. The flip over retainers are a better option as well. Where I drilled holes for installation I need to treat and paint for rust prevention.
(Still postponing doing the big hole in the trunk floor. I have the hole blocked off so carbon monoxide doesn't come in the cabin area. LoL)
Yesterday I bought all the materials to fix the trunk hole. First I'll neutralize the rust then move on to laying the fiberglass. The biggest problem is my "lazy butt." Been feeling burnt out because it's been almost an everyday endeavor to get it up and running for reliable transportation. I've been driving the car several days now and has been great! Today I'll just do a couple of small things like screwing the scuff pads down on the hood pins. Had to find a thin rubber membrane to put between the scuff pad and the paint to seal water out of the holes that were drilled. Also I'll do some detailing of the interior. Don't want to "over stress" myself! LoL. My rim center cap medallions are supposed to arrive today and I'll install those. Found another much needed repair which is to remove and paint the windshield trim, but not today. Bought a whole set of "CROSSFIRE" hatch letters off eBay to replace the three the car wash ate. They were expensive but if it was going to cost $60 for the three so then $72 for the full set was a better deal. Might glue them on today as well
UPDATE @ 7:45PM: TELEVISIONS AND COMPUTERS ARE OBVIOUSLY TOOLS OF THE DEVIL! THE "DEVIL" MADE ME SIT IN FRONT OF THEM ALL DAY AND I DID'NT GET ANYTHING DONE AT ALL! LOL.
