Glass driving me nuts!!!
OK we all got tinted glass in our Crossfires, so here is what drives me nuts: If I park my car out in the sun and stand where I can see the sun hitting the glass I can see the tint inside the glass looking like it has formed into circles. Spoke with a glass man and he tells me tinted glass looks that way, I don't see it on most other cars (but I have seen it in the old days), has anyone else noticed this about the tinted glass in the Crossfire? Looks like the tint forms into dark circles, or separates into the shape of dark spots.

I'm not sure, but if the glass or tinting is polarized, that may be what's causing it. Polarized glass can appear to have circles or waves in it at certain angles. Maybe the tinting is making it more noticeable.
Oh I see your a funny man Fireamx, I'm still laughin. ha ha. But you never know, after all it is called a CROSS-FIRE, get it?
Does anyone have this problem with the glass in their Crossfire, or is it just my glass?

The effect is caused by tempered glass. What you are seeing is the internal stresses in the glass that partially polarize the light. Its these stresses that make the glass stronger and when it does break cause it to shatter into small pieces rather than large sharp shards. All side and rear auto glass is tempered and has this appearance with or without tinting.
So with the replies I got, I should be able to tell my dealer and Chrysler, for sure I have a problem with my glass. I can see it without sunglasses, and so can everyone else.
So is this a problem? Should I tell Chrysler I got bad glass for the 2nd time, or do we all have this problem?
I need input here...

Firebase, before you go to your dealer and try to get them to do anything about it. I'd suggest you go to their lot on a bright sunny day and check out any and all of the Crossfires that they may have on the lot, and see if you don't notice it on their glass too.
The pattern that you have been complaining about (I believe) is caused by the layer of clear plastic that is sandwiched between the inner and outer layer of glass to make it "safety glass".
My biggest question is, why does it bother you so much, I mean you don't notice it when you're inside the car, do you? Just my opinion Bro.

No I don't see it while I'm inside the car, but I can see it when I'm standing outside of the car looking in. My problem is if I can see it, so can other people while I'm looking good in my Crossfire riding up the Blvd. I just can't help thinking people are saying "look at that nice sport car, but what are those spots in the windows?" I'm sure you understand what I'm saying, but if there is no real problem with the glass, and we all got the same glass problem, then I'm just over reacting. hooah
IYO what to you think?

All car glass, except windshields, is "safety glass" and will show these marks. They come from the stresses that are created in the glass to strengthen it. I think the tinted glass in the Crossfire just makes them more visible from the outside.
The windshield shouldn't show the effect as it uses the plastic sheet between two layers of glass to provide strength.
Gee - I finally got to use something I learned in school, it hasn't totally faded away.

RickB, So you're saying it's the "process" that they use to create the "tempered" aspect of the glass that causes the patterns?... That makes sense.
I never really gave this much thought, because I've noticed these "patterns" in the glass on all cars for years and it just didn't bother me that much. (as long as the pattern was uniform)
Firebase, I really can't say that I've noticed it on any car as they drove down the street though. Usually it's always at car shows where everybody has their cars "spit shined" to perfection.
My opinion, don't worry about the onlookers, they're going to be too "dazzled" by the cars natural good looks, and how great you look driving it (even though you're not 19 anymore) that they will never notice the "glass pattern". If you're still concerned, roll down the windows.
