Where are the subwoofers?
Well, I bought a Limited Coupe 2005, Brand New a few weeks ago. I love the car.
I was just wondering where the 2 subs are? I found the 6 speakers, but can't find the subs.
Incite is much appreciated...
P.S. Never put styrofoam cups in the cup holder --- long depressing story (will save for another day).

The subs are behind the seats on the bulkhead. There are only six speakers total including the subs, the two door speakers, and the tweeters on the door. There are no rear speakers.
It says they are 6.6" subs. Has anyone pulled these out and would 8's fit back in, or about how much work would be needed to make a switch like that? I find the stereo about the worst feature of this wonderful car. I find that I can only get no bass to a boomy sounding bass and I'm looking for clean and clear bass notes. I don't find that these 6's hit quite low enough to be of much use and then they seem to over power the mid bass range. IMO! What has anyone else done for simple upgrades to the sound system?
Thanks, John

Look in the technical/audio section. There are some threads about subs etc.
Cheers

The way that most "premium" sound systems in cars work is they're essential conventional speakers you would fin in any other car just with enhance processing capabilities and then of course the vender name slapped everywhere.
If you want better sound from your system I would suggest one of two things; look into this thing from Alpine called a "Vehicle Hub Pro". It's basically an equalizer for you factory system and a hub on top of it to add anything from aftermarket Nav, iPod... etc. you name it. Second is get a completely new system installed. I'll caution you guys on this because it will be expensive. Reason being is because it's an Infinity sound system and everything in that car relating to the sound is proprietary, meaning everything needs to be ripped out and rewired (make sure you get a credible mobile installer to do this kind of stuff, this is your Circuit City or Best Buy kind of install.
And as for speakers, check out Focal. 'Nuff said. LOL.
If you haven't done so already, read this thread:

Probably the best (and cheapest) mod you can do to improve the sound of the stock stereo.
Andrew, can you make that thread "sticky" somewhere?
