On the manual stick it has an RPM limiter, I think 4,000 RPM, this is if you try to rev it up prior to releasing the clutch. Its all in the manual.
Mark, I know about the rev. limiter. HDDP and I talked about it in a previous thread a while back. Besides, I wouldn't launch my car that hard anyway. I don't believe in abusing my cars, just enjoying them.
I was talking about breaking the tires loose even with the traction control turned off, and the darn TC let's you spin a little, then still shuts you down.
If you do a search on traction control, there's a whole thread about turning it off by removing a fuse, or getting a chip, everything I don't want to do.
Thanks for your input...Mike

Is this typical of the CROSSFIRE?

Years back I had a E320 that also did this so?!?!?!

Thanks in advance for your output...

Just a guess, but it may have to do with the "drive by wire"... no direct linkage to the Throttle body... IMHO...

Xfire1,

I have drove my car in the one snow storm we had, the only way I could get up my driveway was to turn of the traction control and put the s/w in s. I have also took off floored from a stand still and there is a difference between no traction control and with. I have had it seem to almost stall especially when it is wet outside, and you accelerate to hard.

Also HDDP if what you said was true, I would expect to see this when I would floor it to pass another car and it is smooth, I do not see any hesitation at all. What about when you race the peddle must be to the metal alot?

HDDP i found an old post of yours... where you state a procedure of "resetting" the computers settings without disconnecting the battery... so i tried that... and it CURED MY HESITATION from a dead stop... makes alot of sense that you do this before prior to your race heat as you stated...

Thanks doc! I mean ...HDDP !!!

Could you possibly link that computer reset thread... I looked high & low for it? I have had the same problem - intermittently feels like the fuel supply shuts down for a split second, then ok. ???. Thanks in advance.

Carl... i forget the thread i found it on but i saved it to word...

as HDDP stated:
Throttle Body Adjustment. They say this works on all drive by wire vehicles and resets parameters WITHOUT Having to disconnect battery!

The Throttle is "Drive By Wire" and adapts to your particular driving
style. Do a TBA Throttle body adaptation.

1. Get in your car, it doesn't matter if you close the door or not.

2. Turn the key to the on (not start) position, the position just before the starter
turns over.

3. Press the gas pedal to the floor with the key in the "on" position.

4. Hold the pedal to the floor for five seconds, then turn the key back
to the "off" position (don't remove the key), then release the gas
pedal.

5. Wait 2 mins. for a full alignment.

6. Drive the car as you always do.

Depending on your driving style, this may or may not be a big factor. I do a lot of city driving so
I noticed a big change after erasing my history. It is not hard to do this, just follow the instructions -

Key on, pedal down, 5 sec, key off pedal up, wait 2
minutes.

Keep the key in for the entire thing.

If this doesn't work, disconnect your neg. battery cable for 20 minutes. This will re-set the parameters in the drive-by-wire... Unfortunately it will delete your pre-set radio stations, clock etc. as well...

thanks again HDDP

j.

also NAP there are different load ratios/factors when the car is at a stand still versus a car moving at 30, 40 or 80 mph...
