Who else could have convinced the police to stop all traffic on 13 mile so we could leave as a group from Woodward to proceed to dinner. Let's not forget Lisa who in Ann's unexpended absents took the bull by the horns and made sure dinner arrangements went smoothly. I'd also like to say I had a great time with all my fellow crossfire members and look forward to our next meet! Oh just some advise for the folks who didn't attend and plan on coming next year, If FP's hoods up, wear your sun glasses before approaching or eye damage may occur.
Just want to correct you here.....
Hawksview (Gary) worked out this part.
Anyway Tammy and I arrived home at 3:45 CST and I have a lot of pics to load so I will post again shortly.
Valk (Gary)
Diane and I had a great time at Woodward.........we have just settled into Ann Arbor following the Nascar race today.
The organization this year was excellent and last night's dinner at Tavern on 13 was great.
The parking on Woodward at 13 Mile could not have been better; compared to last year, it was much better with a lot more activities nearby.
Ann, thanks for everything and sorry you could not make the final few hours on Saturday, especially the dinner part. We can only wish you and Gary the best and we will pray for your family at this time.
Everyone, see you at the next event, be it next year's WDC or maybe earlier.

WOW folks this was a great weekend !!!
31 Crossfires and perfect weather.
I just want to say thanks to everyone who made it to Woodward this year.
I wish I had enough time to talk with every one of you that were there.
What a GREAT bunch of people !!
Great dining on Friday and Saturday thanks to the efforts of Rapps (Ann)
and a great parking spot this year IMO at 13 mile and Woodward.
Click here to see most of my pics from this year.
The Capitan of the Royal Oak Fire Department across the street from our parking lot allowed me to go up to the roof of the station with Crossfirefrank and take a few pics.
I also did a video which I will provide a link to see tomorrow.
Ann, We missed you and Gary at the end but something special is coming your way.
Our thoughts our with you and the family.
Again I just want to say I had a great time !

Damn guys/gals. Sorry I couldn't make it. Looks like you all represented crossfires and the forum to the fullest. I didn't even make it, but how can I not thank Gary and Ann for everyting. They made every new post on this thread something I personally looked forward to. Getting excited for everyone and not even being able to go. I can't wait for the next GTG...monthly? man i say weekly hahaha. See you guys/gals soon...
For those of you who haven't been to the WDC, here are some "highlights" of Cruises gone by.
http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...=7&oq=woodward
As you can see it's so much "MORE" than just a car show.
It was great seeing everybody again, and I just want to say thanks to those "special" people who went above and beyond the call of duty to organize our "ragtag"
group of misfits.
Maybe next year I can convince some of ya to do a little more cruzin, and a lot less sittin between breakfast and dinner. It's one day a year we actually have a great opportunity to show off our beautiful cars to a captive audience of a million+ car enthusiasts, and really make an impression. Not to mention all the "sights" there are to see everywhere along Woodward Ave.
I'm already lookin forward to next year.

Well it looks like the Illinois delegation of XFs made it back safe. I hope all of you did too. It was great seeing you and spending time with you again. Those that I met for the first time, it was a pleasure meeting you, and hope you will make it again next year.
Thank you Ann and Valky for all your efforts in coordinating the event.
Ann, I heard the bad news about your dad. My prayers are with you and your family.

Gary and I wanted to say thank you to everyone for all of the small and large things each of you did this past weekend. From what I hear everyone had a good time, which was what it was all about. At all of the events we have gone to there are familiar faces and new ones. It has never failed that everybody is just really nice. I every time I get in our XF I say “God I love this car” and the friends we have via this forum are part of why I enjoy the car so much. Last weekend the thing I missed most was spending time with friends from last year and with those of you I have exchanged PMs with and was looking forward to meeting.
On a personal level if it weren’t for all of you good people the whole thing, for me, would have been a complete waste. I finally feel better today, not dizzy or so sick. I hear Kyle and Julia took care of you at dinner. Lisa, FP, Frank, Ryan and Gary each of them helped in one way or another, this really was a group effort. Valk you “lived the forum” and had a major hand in making the 2008 WDC a good time for everyone -you rock.
Gary and I left to go be with my Dad. We have helped care for both of my parents for the last 5 years or so, as they both have Alzheimer’s. Dad died a little before midnight and no one is happier about it than him. He was miserable, in pain and unable to do for himself for a long time. It will take some time for us to remember them as they were before all of this, but for now he’s not miserable and that’s a good thing. Rapps/Ann

Ann,
We also want to thank you for all your work, you did an awesome job organizing this outing. It's the 1st one we've been to and had lots of fun. It's great putting people's faces with the names on this forum.
I know what you are going through as I was with my Mom almost 2 years when she passed away in the hospital hospice after a battle with terminal cancer. It's almost a relief when they pass, and the bad memories fade and the good memories are right around the corner and last forever.
You're the greatest doing all this for us with all the other stuff you have on your plate!
Hi to all who were there. I didn't get to talk to everyone, there were so many of you and it was a little hectic. I think we had the best turn-out of 1 kind of car. Hope to see you at the next get together. I posted the pics we took in my gallery.

Ann and Gary it was my pleasure to meet the two of you, you are grt hosts...didn't know about your father, my prayers are with you...sorry for your loss...see you next yr if not sooner...
Ann
I'm really sorry for your lost and hope you can find comfort that your Dad is no longer suffering. I lost my Dad to terminal brain cancer a couple of years ago, and after seeing what his last days were like in the hospital, I knew he was going to a much better place.
We really appreciate all you have done for the group at this most difficult time,
All my best to you and your family

Thank every one for the most enjoyable week end at woodward. Thankyou to all who helped organise the Crossfire meet. Ann our prayers and thoughts are with you .again thank you for all the work that you and Gary put into making our weekend so nice. Hope to see you next year .Lorne
We got back home around 9:00pm Sunday night and it ended up being an 11 hour trip with the detour thru Detroit on I75(I hope its open by next year) and the extremely heavy traffic on I 70 in Maryland and stopping for dinner arond 6:00pm but we would do it all over again, we had such a great time. I want to thank all the people that made it possible for this thing to go so great and fun especially Ann and Gary, Gary(Valk) and also Harbor(Jim) for the discount passes at the museum and the use of his driveway for washing our cars, thanks again. It was great to see alot of old friends and also meet some new friends its just to bad that the time flies by so quickly when your having such a great time. I'm already looking forward to next year and hopefully we can have even more crossfires attend. We'll we had a great and we'll see everyone next year.
Ann our prayers go out to you and your family and Mickie and I are very sorry for your loss.

I also had a great time at Woodward this year. It was great to meet everyone, and the cruise was a secondary bonus.
HUGE thanks go out to Ann for all the hard work she put into making this event work for so many people from so far afield. Thanks to Gary as well for all of his hard work.
Ann, I'm sorry for your loss, and I will remember your father at mass.
