Glad to hear it Joe and Dave. Dave, you arent lying about the beer. That watered down stuff they serve is pretty bad.
Boy was it quiet here today! There are about 4 cars in the parking lot, mine included, but probably includes the front desk clerk as well!
Tomorrow morning we depart as well, officially ending CAA 2012 in VC.

Home safe and want to thank everyone who showed up for the CAA .......I could not have expected a better bunch of amazing people to match the really great cars we all love. Thank all of you for making Marilyn and my time so nice and being so thoughtful. Looking forward to seeing all of you again!
Glad to hear you made it home safe Robert. The car still have 99% of its pieces as well? We made it home safely as well. 7 hours, wasnt bad at all. Crossfire never skipped a beat.

.Need to do and oil change after this trip, but have had no problems with the Crossfire .

I hit Idaho, Oregon, Nevada and California on this trip.
We too got into smoke. Unfortunately it was when we got home, and visibility is quite poor. Less than half a mile I imagine.

Sorry to hear about all the smoke Ben and Dve but you are safe and sounds like the car and your wife's are doing well. Thanks for being at the CAA and sharing your time this ummer with us... it was fun and we met some really spcial people.
Just to let you know Texas T and I are still having a trip of our dreams. Of course the ones that came to the CAA know what great time we all had in VC. When we left Fri went from the back side of Yosemite thru the valley and out to Fresno, Sat across to Moterey/Carmel down hiway 1 (amazing ride) about 90 miles I thank to Canbria, did Hearst Castle this morning then back across the state to the entry of Sequoia for tomorrow. Then East toward East Texas. Thank all of you that came to VC, for being part of our journey. D&P
We made it home last night and didn't even hit any horses. We did also go through lots of smoke in northern California and southern Oregon. I have to agree with the other posters ....... a great group of people. An interesting time and lots of laughs. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting you all ..... make that y'all for Dennis and Pat.
Marilyn and I are still in Bay Area with family and friends. Saw Americas Cup racing on SF Bay yesterday. Amazing boats. Couple more days here and then head for home. Not looking forward to ferry traffic over Labor Day weekend. Lots of tourists visiting then. Great time in VC and wonderful to meet so many nice folks. Thanks to all and hope to do it again.
Sounds like everybody is either home or still on the road enjoying the ride. Only one we havent heard directly from Danny, guessing since he is following Dennis that the sitrep is the same there. Enjoy the rest of your trip guys!
I put a few pics in an album ........ not sure what I'm doing in here so if you just click on my avatar you'll see my album
Enjoying reading the posts here.

2012 CAA ...............
You know what? I think I may have missed giving Francis and Zo a formal THANK YOU for taking the time to set everything up! We missed seeing you during the daytime, but everyone completely understood your situation and were glad to see you for most of the day Thursday anyway. The tour of the Cobb mansion was a pleasant unexpected surprise. It was very nice of Paul and Jeff to allow our group into their immaculate house/mansion for a cool history lesson. My wife is on the scout for a pickle castor now, thanks for that one ;-) lol.
Great day in Glacier Natoinal park today,Carol picked up her Golden Years parks pass for 10 bucks, good till the lord takes her in his holy crossfire. South of Calgary to nite due to the motel in Pincer Creek not having a room for us even though we had a confermation #
DAM THEM "NEW CANADIANS", he had a head injury as his head was bandaged
,that could be the only reason for giving away our room
Finaly home ,a mere 4450 mile trip, gas milage to follow.
I thought I saw JoeJet on CNN news, a guy in Vegas was holding up a big piece of cardboard, its was'nt a check it was a sign for I need gas to get back to Oklahoma,

Dave, that was me with the cardboard sign in Vegas, but to much competition. I offered myself for escort service but that didn't work out either. Finally I sold some blood and we are on our way. Still about 850 miles from home.
Left Virginia City on fri. with Dave, we drove to Ely,NV and said our goodbyes. Dave went north and we went south to Vegas. Dennis and Danny went to Calif.
I arrived in Flagstaff,Az this afternoon. After dinner I called Dennis and guess where they are spending the night? Flagstaff,Az. Talk about a small world.
