Woodward Dream Cruise & GTG - August 18, 2012 - Michigan

We might want to make a day of it because it's part of Henry ford greenfield village complex If we take the tour on Friday then an early dinner in Mexican town then cruise back to Woodward.
If we do not take a tour on Friday dinner I am going to clarkston union bar & kitchen a 30 min or more cruise up Woodward 15 min from the hotel I here there Mac & cheese is awesome.

Because production varies by vehicle demand, you may be touring the Dearborn Truck Plant when we are not building vehicles. Production hours are inconsistent, and The Henry Ford does not control when trucks are being produced. While we cannot guarantee you will see the assembly line in full operation, you will still be able to visit the assembly line area temporarily suspended in mid-operation. We will not be building vehicles during daily breaks, shift changes, holidays and during the first two weeks of July. With or without live production, the tour offers unique experiences with full walking access above the factory assembly area.

I put my order in for perfect weather and guess what...someone listened...sunny and 73 degrees all weekend....perfect!! But don't forget it is Michigan we are talking about and everything is subject to change...
I am stuck in Effingham IL until late Thursday nite. I won't be arriving back home until late Friday morning and still have to unload and re-load which puts me well into late Friday...so, canceled the hotel room, and will try to catch John and Molly and hand off my parking pass for someone to use... You all have fun...work seems to get in the way here lately...but, I can't get out of it...so it is what it is....have fun everyone...

Drove Woodward last night. It was ridiculously packed. Took about an hour to drive 3 miles. Be careful driving on the south end of Woodward (through Royal Oak)... the local law enforcement is out with literally everything they have. At one point I saw 7 people pulled over.
Oh, BTW, there's some kind of national Corvette club meeting around here..... I think I saw somewhere north of a thousand Corvette's yesterday.
On the weather front...... We're supposed to have some pretty bad storms moving through this afternoon into tomorrow morning. After that it's supposed to be beautiful sunny skies and low 70's for the next few days.
Drive safe guys!

Stop by and see us Fri or Sat at Memorial Park 13/WW.
Steve, hopefully you will stop by in some of that American Muscle you traded in the XF for
Looking forward to seeing many old friends and meeting many new ones...
Unfortunately, we will not be able to leave until Friday evening, so we will get in late, as usual. I know the usual suspects will be enjoying a beer in the parking lot when we arrive, per usual

I'm at the Marriott since this AM. Weather is is the 90s with a front passing thru tonite with RAIN and BOOMERS, and that should cool things off to a very pleasant Friday and Saturday (mid 70s) with lots of SUN. Tonite there is a proposed dinner and meet, at a place called the Moose Preserve on Woodward.
I inquired at the front desk about what other cruise groups are expected in, and they said only the Crossfires and a Bible Ministry study group. Well it should be pretty quiet, with them here. Hope we don't disturb their "studies". LOL
I asked about the Impala group, and was told that they did indeed request to stay, but was refused by the hotel, because of the problems they caused last year. YAY!!!!!
I also checked out the Memorial Park spot for us, and there probably isn't a better location anywhere. Lots of shade trees and grass, and the city (or park) are installing bleacher seating right at the street for viewing. It also looks like some food vendors will be right there. Looks super!!!!! See yas!!!!!

Drove over 700 miles last Tue got to Auburn Hills around 630PM-
just my luck never saw any crossfire the entire trip,
but people clamoring over my car at almost every stops!
Been getting goodies from NeedsWing installed,
Oil Catch Can Kit, Intercooler Fluid Isolation Kit, etc, secret red metallic triple CAI OK the last one is just a joke
Got to see an awesome GTO
Crossfire starts to appear, I saw a while coupe at Hampton Inn parking lot, I think I also saw IBLUBYU black SRT roadster, but I was in a loaner car, black Ferrari, ops AMG 32 or is it 55 ? J
Anyway will pick up my SRT back tomorrow - cant wait to see you all at Marriott then!

Well I drove to Dayton Ohio today. About 950 miles. That was far enough for one day. On the way here the top window trim blew off somewhere in Tenn. I saw the car behind me run it over. Anyone know where I can get one?
