Finally, I get a chance to get out here and comment.

My first Dragon was incredible! As stated already by others, many thanks to all who planned this event and leaders of each of the runs. The car is a beast more than I ever knew it was and I know I can push it further – just need to get another Dragon under my belt.

Comments:
- Thanks to Nick for meeting me on my trip up to the lodge. He also threw a run in there for fun on the way up, so in a way I had a Thursday evening run! My initiation run?

- Another thanks to Nick for leading Friday to ourExtreme Go Cart fun and avoiding gravel roads and thanks to Nick and Evan for leading the Saturday runs. )

- I was impressed that Georgia and Tennessee fans sat together to watch the game and were well mannered during the entire game with just a few silent cheers under the table. Very good game by the way. Georgia won that game but did finally lose, but to Missouri, really?

- There was one Bama fan and me (LSU fan), even with no game for us, we were not as well mannered. Lucky for everyone, the Bama and LSU game is later in the year – you know how those Bama fans are.

- I am so glad I invested in new brake lines, fluid, pads, new wheels and tires. Wow did I need them!

- Shawn killed a happy defenseless little squirrel. I guess he is now Squirrel Crusher junior. Great video’s and yes, you are a beast on the road, I was impressed. Nice avatar. HA!

- A few pictures I included -One is of us ordering food at Sonic. As you can see we did not have cars because we parked them at Pizza Hut but changed our minds and ate at Sonic.

- I am convinced that I need to purchase a HERO! Cool vids by everyone. Ozzy – Crazy Train was a nice touch.

- I like what Valk did for the Sunday run where he mapped it out. Nick, do you think you could do that for the Friday and Saturday runs? I am not sure what all we did, lol.

- PizzaGuy – getting that ticket was just bad luck.

Car stuff that I took notice of.

-Max’s car looked great lowered, great wheels, mesh grill and extra clean. I appreciate the information about lowering mine and will reach out to you soonabout putting a plan together.

- BoilerUp – cool rear deck lid spoiler, flat black painted license plate area, body paint on the windshield wiper arm and cowl, and rear diffuser. Great pictures of the car you posted.

- Big Kid – brake kit, wheels, arm pillar gauges, clean engine bay, and hood scoops with drainage (crazy cool).

- Someone (Red Dog maybe?) had a cool arm rest with cup holder.

- Squirrel Crusher – pretty much everything! Awesome creativity and imagination with many of the additions on this car. The hood is just crazy looking, in a good way!

- Thirteendog – cup holder, V8 and exhaust note(deafening in a tunnel as we pass a cop – hysterical!!!).

Tips:
- For newbies, be prepared to be tired at the end of the day. It is a lot to take in especially if you are in the aggressive group. I required a lot of concentration to keep up with Nick and others.

- For an 11 hourish drive, I am glad I arrivedThursday, to give me three days of fun. It was nice breaking up the drive home over two days – Sunday and Monday but mainly I did this due to Karen (Tropical Storm) and the unknown of what she would do to my drive back home which did involve quite a bit of rain that Sunday.

- Might help newbies if the Saturday events areposted on the website after the Friday night get together. With so many choices I was a little confused on what they were and where they were going. This could have just been me though –maybe for Sunday as well. Yeah, I know, I am kind of an agenda guy and you can’t please everyone!

Thank you for the kind words, your car was the first that caught my eye when we rolled it. If you ever get tired of those beautiful forgestars, let me know

Next time, hopefully we will have some time to talk, but it is excellent to hear you had an amazing time. It is truly one of those trips you can not appreciate until you have gone and done it...

Dementors,

Thanks for the objectivere view of the weekend fromthe perspective of a nubie. Sometimes us old veterans forget how awesomely dauting that firstDragon experience can be. Your obeservations will certainly help the leaders plan a bit better to include everyone an opportunity to maximize their experience. It is only a two day event for most attendees and the many choices are daunting.

PIZZAGUY should not have gotten that ticket. Cop should have followed proper protocols and given it to Ncik. After all, Nick had the the car with the Benz badge.

I'm glad to have met you, Liked your car and I am delighted you had a worthwhile experence.

See ya at the next GTG.

Nick knew where the stateline was and recognized that that was a North Carolina State Highway Patrolman. Granted he could've pulled a smokey and the bandit and follow me on a wild ride all the way home. Hell I might've even found a a girl with nice legs on that trip.

BoilerUpXFire – I could have visited more but I was going to bed earlier than I normally did. Another reason I need to go back. I guess I am getting old!

Thanks for the compliment on the wheels. The wheels/tires and stripes were a surprise for the Dragon group as I did not mention it on the forum first. The wheels are the same as Sheldon’s and Velociabstract’s but painted silver.

Front: 18 x 9 – 30 offset
Rear: 18 x 10 – 26 offset (Velociabstract has 25 offset)

Tires are Michelin Super Sports – 245/35 front and 285/35 rear. The gap for the front tire and the suspension bolt is around ¼ of an inch or slightly less.

The fronts stick out just a tad too much for my liking (the gap between the tire and fender) but I will fix that when I lower it all the way around, probably just an inch lower and tilt the wheels in a tad. The grip was awesome the entire weekend.
If I ever decide to get rid of them, you are first on the list. Haha

Franc - glad you liked the feedback. Let me know if I can help out in any other way.

I witnessed Nick leaving Pizzaguy in the dust and saving his own tail. A real friend would have pulled a Smokey and the Bandit maneuver by turning around and taunting the cop to chase him instead of writing the ticket for Pizzaguy.

I will not be able to attend the Spring Dragon – Disney vacation with the family and then a conference all around that same time but I am shooting for the Fall Dragon for sure.

Just for the record, I'm not gonna lay this on Nick. It was the cop who failed to understand his priorities here.
This is AMERICA for cryin' out loud.
Always steal the money from the rich guy.

always fun to read what the first time Fontana fun runs brings to the table...some like this some like that. My last few I just enjoyed sitting around and visiting...giving the cars a rest...maybe next fall things will be back to normal...I can't do spring anymore, but fall is in the picture...summer seems to be a problem now as well....times are a changin'.... There are so many things in and around that area to do, you can't go wrong each time you go if you mix it up a bit...

HAHA, no kidding. At least he told Pizzaguy what we were doing so he was not sitting there waiting for the Calvary! If it would have been me, being a newbie and all, I would have been like, "Where is everyone going?" as I am getting pulled over ? haha

Saturday run. The one thing I'd like to point out is D on the map is where Pizza received his little piece of paper.

Hey! We are comrads in arms here. There is this honor bond ya know!

We may not go back and pick up our dead, But, at least we wait, in relative safety on the other side of the State lines, until the consaible is done writing the poor guy a ticket.

I really wonder what I'd have done had I known the state line was so close.

ANd to think, I intended to have the GPS running - it would have shown me the line coming up...
