Yes, zip439, myself and possibly Max will be meeting up at my house Thursday morning around 9. We could meet you at the Heflin exit on I-20 around 9:30 or so if you want to share the ride up !
We will be going back roads ( no boring Interstates ) all the way.
I know it is a way off yet, but here is what Tammi and I plan to do for Saturday, and anyone that wants to join is welcome. It will be a take-your-time drive and enjoy the scenery. Since the Cherohala Skyway is our favorite part, we will double back over it after eating lunch in Tellico Plains. We do need some suggestions for eateries that have parking for everyone.
On the way back, we can stop at Bald River Falls just outside of Tellico Plains for those that have not been there yet. Cherokee National Forest - Bald River Falls It is worth stopping even if you have been before.
Also we plan to stop at the Joyce Kilmer National Forest before getting back to the lodge. It is two mile walk from the parking lot but sounds really interesting. More info here: National Forests in North Carolina - Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest

James, we would like to tag along on your trip. Also do you know if there is a group leaving from Florence, Ky like last year?

I will be coming our of St Louis Thursday morning and running thru Nashville to Highway I40. Due east to Knoxville. So far I will be leading one 2011 Mustang ragtop. I don't think anyone else from St Louis are is coming this fall.
This is the guy who helped me with my brake job last fall. Name is Mike and he will be bunking with me at the lodge. Please give him a good welcome and, if you get a chance, razz him about brake calipers and trying to kill his boss.

Dan, You are welcome to join us with any others that want to come along.
Dan, I will be leaving the Florence Hotel around 8 as usual. I am sure more will be there that morning.

[QUOTE=oledoc2u;808712]Reservations Susan says she'll bring the bottle of aspirins LOL ,it will be good to see you my old friend
You can add two more first timers (Karen and Ken) to the list, just got off the phone with Fontana and the reservation is made. Will probably keep to the more scenic rides since it is our first time, plus the wife is easily scared. She has never even driven the Crossfire but, I am hoping to get her behind the wheel at least once while we are there. Looking forward to putting faces to the screen names and see all these great cars together in one place. Planning at this time to ride down with James1549 and his group from Florence Ky Friday morning.
