Sorry to hear about that. Bummer. Well, hope to see you at an event in the near future.
Crystal, Sorry to let you know that due to circumstances beyond our control we will be unable to make the CAA 9. We were looking forward to making it our 8th CAA in a row and represent the Bright Silver Crossfires. Know you and the Crossfire friends will have a great time in Cajun land. Thanks for your planning an hard work. Dennis&Pat Jordan

Update:
Marc will be at the hotel early this afternoon. He is taking a half-day off work. I will not be there until later because I have Parent-Teacher Conferences today. I anticipate arriving around 6:00. I will have the food with me for those who ordered dinner. If you still have not ordered dinner ($10/person), then you do still have time. I plan to put the order in later this morning.
As for "Invest 90" - They are predicting this to be a Tropical Depression and more of a rain maker event than a wind event. There are still a lot of factors out there that will determine where it heads. My experience is that Tropical Storms here in Louisiana tend to be a let-down (very boring and uneventful). Everyone gets all nervous about it and then it turns out to me much of nothing. However, because the storm is most likely to hit on Sunday, I feel it is a good idea to do New Orleans on Monday. It is still very possible the storm could head to Florida instead of Louisiana. No one really knows at this point.
Therefore, the schedule for this weekend is:
Saturday: Natchez, Mississippi
Sunday: Avery Island, Louisiana
Monday: New Orleans, Louisiana
We will be using walkie-talkies, so if you have one, then bring it. If you do not have one, then you will have Marc's and my phone number in your packets, in case you get lost. Walke-talkies are helpful to get in touch with the group quickly, but if you do not have one, that is okay because there will be cell service.
Keep checking here for updates on the event throughout the day today and the weekend.
See you this evening.

WEATHER UPDATE:
They just put out the official forecast track for TS Alberto. It is coming in slower than they originally thought, therefore it will be hitting MISSISSIPPI on Monday. This means we need to swap New Orleans to Sunday and Avery Island to Monday. That will work because Avery Island is more westward, keeping us further from the TS force winds and rain. It will be getting close to land Sunday evening, so we may need to head back to St. Francisville earlier Sunday evening than scheduled. Of course we will keep an eye on the forecast throughout the weekend and make decisions as necessary.

I'm wishing all of you attending CAA9 this weekend a wonderful time
If any of you will be in Eureka Springs at the end of June or the Tail of the Dragon at the beginning of October I will be at both of these events and I'll see ya there

I followed this event on Facebook periodically over the long weekend and it looks as if it went very well for all
Hats off to Crystal and all the people involved in organizing this event.
it does appear that Facebook has become the place where events are planned and shared more than here now.
