Thanks - that was a good review. I always copy/paste these into an email and send them to myself so I have a little portfolio of Crossfire articles. I have to disagree with him about the transmission. I find the 6-speed to be a little sticky, especially from 1st to 2nd. My Audi shifts like butter - very precise - compared to the Crossfire. I keep hoping it will "break in" and get better with mileage, but a 22k there has not been any improvement. But I still love the car.

most likely you need to disassemble the tranny and debut all the synchros gears, clean up and polish shifter rails. then it would most likely shift like butter.

If I had the talent to do something like that, I would quit my day job and open up a transmission shop. So I guess I'll just have to live with it.

Just about all reviews I've read (except this one) have said that the manual (stick shift?) is 'notchy' and that the auto was the better choice...

When I was over on your side of the pond (2000-2004) I bought a 2001 Mustang GT Conv. Drove it off the lot, those guys practically held me hostage until the deal was done! It was an auto which was nice to drive, but I sometimes felt I should've had a manual.

So for the Crossfire I opted for the 6 speed, I collect it on Friday. I'm sure the fun factor will make up for the notchy gears...
