Removable Hardtop
YES! was looking around for someone to customise a removable hardtop for my Crossfire. Something similar to the 1997-2002 Mercedes SL, with the glass roof. any idea where i can get it done?
cheers

When I had a Vette I had a targa roof and though it was only about 16 pounds it was a pain in the butt to deal with, not because of weight but because of bulk. I drive my roadster all winter and the snow and rain doesn't bother me or it.
I sent a message to Smoth Line http://www.smoothline.com they make these things for other simular vehicles, I gave them a link to this forum so...who knows.....
The 89-90-91 Chrysler/Maserati had a 50's Thunderbird-looking removable hardtop that looked pretty sharp.
Too bad the rest of the car looked like a 2 seater Le Baron.
I intend to garage my yellow roadster Oct-April, but might still be interested if it would make it more of a 3 season car. I enjoy driving it more than I thought I would (my last roadster was a '74 MGB, which was not always pleasant to drive), so a couple more months of driving would be welcome.

I don't want to drive the car in any inclement weather, but sometimes I may have to, so it would be nice to not have to worry about the softtop, or freeze my ya-ya's off, although the car does have heated seates, my ya-ya's are probably save. Nome the less, I think it would be a worthwhile investment.
I was also thinking of getting one of those MC trailers too, but they are expensive, and that will certainly affect the way the car handles too.
The Crossfire heater is REALLY good! I have gone through 3 Winters and never had a problem with being cold - and I have a Base Roadster with no heated seats.
I did get a set of snow tires, but the ragtop didn't keep the car too cold to ride in.

I just got this car, my last car was a '98 Sebring Conv, and before that a '90 LeBaron Conv. Both Great cars! The heat in those seemed better than the Xfire, but the cabin is smaller. And all I was trying to do was keep the cabin warm while cruising with the top-down at night. The heated seats are perfect for that, I wish the Sebring had them. When it gets cold, I'll see how good the heat is.
I have noticed one other thing, this car has dual climate controll, and inorder to keep the car warm, I had to turn both on HEAT, and it wasn't that cold out.
