a couple of things i forgot to mention; clean the brake light lens with alcohol to get good adhesion of the tape and use a pair of needlenose pliers to hold the letters by the little handle on them so you can better see where to line-up and place the letter.

Just to let you know-the wife nixed the debadge on the rear. BUT approved of moving the letters to the top brakelight bar.

I may be doing this. It looks great!

i just wanted to update everyone on the painted console mod. so far so good, i have gotten plenty of good feedback from people and i am very happy i did it. it really was worth the $175.00 for my local bodyshop to sand, paint and clearcoat the parts after removing them. they seem to be holding up really well to normal use. the finish is easy to maintain and keep clean, same as the car's finish. now i can wax the inside of my car too .

No pics, but I shamelessly copied your "re-badging" of the rear Crossfire letters. A neat idea that I stole. Yes, STOLE from you! My wife even grudgingly approved. It looks like it was meant to be...

And just to throw a wrench in the works, after you have the caps installed, try upgrading the 6 1/2" door speakers. Worth the $50-$60 bucks you'll spend.

what kind of speakers and how hard is it to take the door panals off the car to get to them? i think the 270 caps sound great with the infinitys. also is there a 250 cap available, i am just curious as to how they would sound? they would allow just a little more bass to the subs.

I tried the 250 uF value when I was testing. No difference really in the sub response, but a little less midrange from the doors. Voices didn't sound as rich.

I bought Infinty 6022i (full sized) not the 6022si (S for Shallow) for $50 on Amazon. That sale is gone, but you can find them all over the place for $50 - $60. Just do a Google Shopping search for "Infinity 6022i" and take your pick.

I've had the door panels off on every car I've ever owned and these are the easiest to remove and reinstall. The speakers are a direct factory fit.
Kinda'.
The lip on the edge of the frame isn't in the same place. The OEM speakers fit in a sort of box made by Infinity. When you swap out these speakers, the cover doesn't fit as deep. But the screws are long enough.

I compared these to a friends roadster with the stock setup and will have to swap his out in a week when his arrive. He ordered a pair that same afternoon. A world of difference. The magnets are larger, midrange is deeper and richer and the tweeter acually sounds like it should. If you want to wait, come to the Fall Dragon run and listen to mine. $60 well spent.

If there is interest, I can re-do the install and show pics of the steps.

Max I would be interested. I always wanted to see the inside of the door panels. And would like to upgrade my speakers as well.

Thanks!
