Battery
I purchased my 2005 Roadster a couple of weeks ago and have gotten a great deal of help from this forum which I reallly appreciate. My next concern is that I've noticed the battery in my car is not the right size. The previous owner has replaced it with a much shorter battery and of course I don't know the age of the battery. Can someone advise me on the best and correct size battery with a good price to buy for this car? Thanks in advance.
Chances are the "New" battery in your car isn't that old, since the original batterys seem to have an "average" life span of around 4 years.
Lots of performance minded Crossfire owners actually look for a "smaller" or "lighter" battery to replace the original just to make the Crossfire less "nose heavy". (improves handling).
As long as the battery you now have starts the car everytime, and holds a good charge, I wouldn't change it.

The battery in my 05 fried over the winter. I jumped it and drove to "Batteries Plus" and they installed a new one for under $100. Works great. Not sure if Batteries Plus is nationwide.
My car failed to start Saturday night while out for dinner, wouldn't jump. So I ran to Advanced Auto. Lucky me, they would have to order it, only $149.00! I went back to pull it out and charge it overnight, tried once more to jump and it started up. Everything looked clean, no visible problems, when I pulled off the positive cable it looked a little dirty, that was the problem. I did notice some special top with what looks like some small vents, which is what makes them so expensive, according to Advanced Auto.
There should be a label on the top of the battery that is punched out to tell you the year it was sold or the year it's factory warranty expires. If the latter just subtract from the year. This will at least give you a ballpark age.
