In fact, many of us stop half cycle to clean the landau cover and oil the cables.
Just don't try to drive it like that.

In fact the guys with Coupes really get upset that we can stop our tops, cuz they cant move theirs!
The top can be stopped by just letting up on the button. Problem is ... if its in the half-up position for more than 10 minutes (I think thats the time), the hydraulics are automatically released and the top will just fall back. If you search for it, I think there has been posted an easy correction to bring the hydraulics back. I personally just recycle the top to get another 10 minutes or so. Someone may chime in on this further........

Why does the top have to be up to change tail light bulbs? I've changed mine three times just by opening the trunk and taking off the felt cover.

Well, like they say: there's an easy way and a hard way to do things. Next time you need to change a tail light bulb, try the easy way.

I regularly stop mine at the halfway mark for cleaning in There. also changing the tail lights. I drive on a lot of gravel Roads. I have never saw any problem with the seqencing of the mechanicals. I also do not believe that it FALLS back into place but rather Moves into the fully opened position.
Ten minutes is about right I would hesitate to BRACE the top into place without disconnection the servo motors and such.
